Paje She V.F.W. Auxiliary V.F.W. Auxiliary Unit CONING SOCIAL EVENTS No. 4721 Will hold its regular meeting on Monday evening, July 9 at 8:00 o'clock in the V.F.W. hall on West street. All members are urged to attend. Circle Meeting Circle Three of the Woman's Association of the First Presby terian church will meet Tuesday evening, July 10 at 8:00 o'clock in the home of Mrs. Hazel Wood ford, near Caldwell with Mrs. Mary Young ^and Mrs. Mary lams serving as companion hostesses. Mixed Dance The Summit Sewing Sallies 4-H club of Lewisville, is spon soring a mixed dance on Friday evening, July 6, in the Lewisville high school, from 8:30 to 12:00 midnight. Music will be furnish ed by the Shenandoah Valley gangs. Proceeds will go to the Carlson building fund. Ice Cream Social The Senior class of Cumber land high school will sponsor an ice cream social at Jarvin's school house near Cumberland, Friday evening, July 6, beginning at 7:00 o'clock. Annual Picnic The annual picnic and home coming of St. Joseph's Catholic church at Burkhart will be held on Sunday, July 15. St. Joseph': church is located on State Rout* 78, between Summerfield and Woodsfield. The public is cordi ally invited to attend. To Hold Dance There will be a dance at St. Henry's parish hull, Harrietts ville, Sunday evening, July 8, beginning at 8:30 o'clock. Music Will be furnished by the Mid night Ramblers. Refreshments Will be served by group 3. Noble Rebekah Lodge Noble Rebekah Lodge will meet Friday evening at 8:00 o'clock in regular session. Re freshments will be served and memorial program is being plan ned. All members are urged tc be present. Renrock Grange Renrock grange will meet in regular session, Friday evening July 6. The baking contest wil be held at this meeting. The Home Economics committee is asking each lady to enter an apple coffee cake for this con test. Refreshments will be servec following the meeting. Friday Niters Bridge Club Is Entertained Mrs. Floyd Hundtrson ente: tained the Friday Niters Bridf club Friday evening at her hon on North street. An evening of bridge was en joyed with Mrs. N. S. Reed rt ceiving the guest prize and Mr.1 Henry Brumbaeh and Mrs. Harr. Knox, the club prizes. Members present were Mr Harry Knox, Mrs. Harry Rich creek, Mrs. Arthur Beyer, Mrs. R. C. Moore, Mrs. Henry Brum bach, Bernice Mills, Frances Tay lor, Miss Thelma Rice, Mrs. Don ald Harkins, Mrs. H. A. Baker and the hostess. Guests were Mrs. N. S. Reed and Mrs. Walter Quick. Snack refreshments were ser ved by the hostess. Missionary Society Holds July Meeting The Ladies Missionary Society of the First Baptist church was entertained Tuesday evening, July 3, in the home of Mrs. Charles Patten, south of Cald well. The meeting opened with the .roup singing a hymn, followed ..y prayer by Hannah Shafer. The devotional service was con 'ucted by Susie VanFossen. Each nembers gave a scripture verse. A short business session was onducted by the president, Mrs. .JaUen. CARL ROBERT FOX Vases of White gladolia and lighted tapers decorated Christ The King Catholic church, Columbus for the recent wedding cere mony uniting in marriage Miss Patricia Ann Schockling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I. R. Schockling of Caldwell route and Carl Robert Fox, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl A. Fox of Columbus. The Rev. Fr. the double Brehm officiated at ring ceremony. Given in marriage by her father, the former Miss Schock ling wore a gown of nylon tulle and rosepoint lace with sequin appliques on the scoop neckline and calla sleeves extending into points over the hands. Her bouf fant nylon skirt with lace ap pliques adorned the front and back. Her fingertip veil of silk illusion was held in place by a crown trimmed with sequins. The bride carried a bouquet of white roses, glads and lillies of the valley and a pearl rosary. Her only jewelry was ^mall leaf shaped pearl earrings. Miss Geneva Schockling, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor wearing a pink waltz length gown with a full skirt of nylon tricott over tiers of net, with a jacket to match and she wore pink flowers in her hair. Her bouquet was in the shape of a fan made of orchid carna tions. Miss Betty Cople and Miss Barbara Matunis, friends of the bride, served as bridesmaids wearing blue gowns styled exact ly like the one worn by the maid hi honor. They carried fan bou quets of yellow carnations and wore blue flowers in their hair. Sandra and Lynn Fox, sister and brother of the bridegroom, served as miniature bride and groom. Miss Fox wore a gown of tiered white nylon tulle. Her headpiece was a white tiered hat of tulle. Gary Fox, brother of the bridegroom, was best man and the guests were seated by Jack Frost, Jerry Reiser, John Meyer and Joe Kelley. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Schockling chose a navy and white dress and wore a cor sage of white rosebuds. The bridegroom's mother wore a beige linen dress and a corsage of yellow rosebuds. The new Mrs. Fox graduated from Caldwell high school and is employed at the National Cash Register Co. in Columbus. The groom graduated from Ros ary high school in Columbus and is employed at the Ohio Bell Telephone Co. He also served four years in the U. S. Air Force. After the reception, which was held at Root's Party House, Co lumbus, the couple left for a short wedding trip. The bride was wearing a blue sheath dress with white accessories. The couple is now residing at 371 N. Virginia Lee Rd., E., in Colum bus. A number of Noble county relatives attended the ceremony and reception. RECEIVES PROMOTION Ron Springer, chief clerk of the Ohio Power company in Ironton for 15 years, has been promoted as district manager of the company at Pomeroy. The Springer family will move there in the near future.
