Page Eight Miss Wanda Foraker And John Nelson Exchange Nuptials Miss Wanda Sue Foraker, daughter oi Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Foraker. of Waterford, became the bride of John Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Nelson, of Reinersville, in a recent cere mony. The double ring service was read by Rev. Jones in the Bev erly Christian church. The bride selected a gown of white lace over pale blue satin for her wedding. She wore white accessories and a corsage of pink rosebuds pinned to her shoulder line. Mrs. David Allen, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Mrs. Allen was attired in a gown of blue silk with white accessories and a corsage of pink rosebuds. Vernon Ray Hughes, Jr., of Caldwell route, was Mr. Nelson's best man. A reception was held in the home of the bride's parents on the evening of the wedding. The newlyweds are residing at 160 E. Liberty Street, McCon nelsville, where their apartment was in readiness. James Sholtis' Feted With A Housewarming Mr. .:nd Mi'.-. .Jam. Shulns, of the Mt. Ephraini community, were pleasantly surprised Satur day evening, June 30, with a house warm ins and pound show er. Hostesses were Mrs. John C. Miley. Mrs. J. Wallace Rich and Mrs. Rodney R. Williams. The evening was spent in formally and delicious refresh ments were served to approxi mately 65 guests. A delicious pot luck dinner was enjoyed at noon by 34 mem bers and guests. The day was spend quilting and making quilt blocks. Binegar Tilton Nuptials Spoken Miss Ora Jean Binegar, daugh ter oi Mr. and Mrs. William Bine gar of Reno, became the bride of Larry William Tilton. son of Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Tilton of Maeksburp route I. Noble county, in a double ring ceremony read Friday, June 22. in the Church of Christ parsonage in Lowell. The vows were exchanged at 2:00 p. m. before the Rev. George Koch. The bride chose a white nylon street length frock with white accessories and a corsage of red rosebuds. Miss Donna Tilton, sister ol the bridegroom, was maid of honor. She wore a green nylon street length frock with* white acces sories and a corsage of coral rosebuds. Lloyd Moncrief, of Lowell route, served as best man lor Mr. Tilton. The newlyweds left immedi ately following the ceremony for a wedding trip through the southern states. They returned home Sunday. A wedding dinner was served Sunday noon in the home ol the bridegroom's parents io over thirty guests. Both young people are grad uates ol Lowell high school. Mr. Tilton attended Ohio State Uni versity, Columbus and is now employed as a Draftsman with the Dravco Plant in Mariota. They were honored last Wed nesday evening with an old-fash ioned serenade and belling at the home of the bridegroom's parents with approximately 100 attending. They were presented with many nice gifts. The couple is now at Imine on 3rd street. Marieta. Demonstration Club Of Dexter City Meets The Dexter City Home Demon stration club met recently in the high school building with Agnes Crock and Willie Anne Gill serv ing as companion hostesses. The project for the day was taught by Bess Patten and Willie Anne Gill. Members present were Beulah Pryor, Bess Patten, Edith Mc Farland, Sarah McAtee, Virginia Frew. Bess Hayes, Marie Harper and the hostesses. The next meeting will be held July 18 in the school building with Marie Harper and Edith Mc Farland as the hostesses. Pi1It The pre-nuptial music was presented by Howard Nau, voc alist and Mrs. Otto Miller, organ ist. Their selections included "On This Day Oh Beautiful Mother", "Lord I am Not Worthy" and the traditional wedding marches. The bride, escorted to the altar and given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of Chantilly lace and nylon net over a skirt of bridal satin and one of nylon net. The bodice was tight-fitting with low neckline. The sleeves were long and ex tended over the hands in points, which were trimmed with self covered buttons. The skirt had ten rows of small ruffles at either side, alternating of lace and net. There were two flounces of nylon net around the .skirt. The Cathedral length train of Chantilly lace extended over a number of nylon ruffles. She wore a ballerina length wedding veil, treated by Vogue Bridals. The crown of the hat was flat and was covered with corresponding Chantilly lace. The hat had a very narrow band extending over the face which was trimmed with seed pearls. Her jewelry consisted of pearl earrings and necklace, gift of the bridegroom. She carried a bou quet of white rosebuds centered with an orchid. Mrs. Bill Riski served as matron of honor. Schafer, daughter of Mr. and Mi's. Clem Schafer, ol Caldwell route 4, to Bernard Riski, son of Mrs. Anna Riski, of Florence. The double ring ceremony was read Saturday, June 16, at 9:30 o'clock a. m. by Monsignor Hoofe before an altar adorned with arrangements of white and red roses and lillies-ol'-the-valley. attired in a gown of blue taffeta and carried a bouquet of pink md white carnations. Mrs. Phil Harding and Miss Joanne Crock served as brides maids. Mrs. Harding was gown ed in orchid and Miss Crock wore yellow. Both carried bouquet of yellow and white carnations. Miss Donna Crum, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Crum and Miss Linda Savchak, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. John Sav chak of Cleveland, were flower girls. They wore identical dresses of orchid doted swiss over taf feta. Their bouquets were of yel low carnations. Bill Riski served as best man and the guests were seated by Paul Sariskv and Phil Harding The bride's mother was attired in an aqua dress with white accessories while Mrs. Risk wore a navy blue dress with white accessories. Both mothers wore corsages of white carna tions. A reception was held follow ing the ceremony in the church hall for approximately uests. Assisting at the recep tion were Mrs. Ed. The new Mrs. Riski is a grad uate of Caldwell high school with the class of 1950 and is em ployed with the Cleveland Gra phite Bronze Co. Mr. Riski graduated from Caldwell high school with the class of 1950 and is employed with the R. C. Moore Lumber Co. Following a wedding trip to Niagara Falls and Canada, the couple is residing in Olive where their apartment was in readiness Out-of-town guests were at the wedding and reception from Can on, Illinois, Byesville and Cleve land. Club Enjoys Picnic, Monday The Caldwell Business and Professional Women's club en joyed a picnic Monday evening July 2 at 6:30 o'clock at the home of Betty Murphy on Main street A covered dish dinner was enjoyed by 24 members and uuests, followed by a short pro gram. The business meeting was con ducted by the president, Nelle Startzman at which time plans were made to hold a dinner meeting in August. Narcissus Club Enjoys Luncheon, Thursday Mrs. Betty Murphy and Mrs. Marion Robey entertained the Narcissus club with a one o'clock luncheon on Thursday, June 28, at the Betsy Mills club in Mari etta. The luncheon table was at tractively decorated with ar rangements of summer flowers. Members present were Flor ence Archer, Mary Tipton, Gert rude Hai'per, Jo Freestone, Nat alie Dahood, Katheryn Merry, Edna Tarloton, Evelyn Johnson, Winnie Johnson, Freda Robinson, Elsie Kirehner, Nell James, Mary Secrest, Lela Keyser, Hope Web ster, Mary Okey and the host esses. Guests were Jean Morris and Vivian Davis. A short program wsa present ed following the luncheon. Jolly Ten Club Meets Thursday Mrs. Margaret Warner enter tained members and guests of the Jolly Ten club Thursday at her home near Berne. The day was spent in prepar ing materials for rug making and a delicious dinner was served at noon. Contests were enjoyed during the social hour with Betty Archer winning the prize. Those present were Betty Archer, Anita Crum, Emma Shel ton, Evelyn Gressel and the hostess in addition to a number of children. The next meeting will be held in the home of Anita Crum on July 19. WORD OF DEATH Mrs. Laura Fowler, of West street, received word that her brother, Albin E. Broughton, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away on June 27 at 5:00 a. m. in a hospital there. Mr. Broughton had undergone major surgery three weeks ago. O N E 9 8 Local Group Attend V.F.W. Convention Among those from Caldwell that attended the State V.F.W. convention this past weekend in Dayton, were Mr. and Mrs. Wil liam Lahue, Mr. and Mrs. Davie McAuley, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rice, Mr. and Mrs. William Moore, Robert Vogel and Edward Weston. The local auxiliary was hon ored when Mrs. Moore was named to an appointive office in the department of Ohio for the ensuing year. Mrs. Moore is a past president of the local auxili ary and of the district auxiliary. Gertrude Lugnbuhl of Alliance is the department president for the ensuing year. Rebecca Brown Feted With Birthday Party Mrs. Louie Brown entertained Thursday morning with a birth day party honoring the fifth birthday anniversary of her daughter, Rebecca Brown. As sisting Mrs. Brown were Mrs. Lamar Dowling, Mrs. Richard Ball, Mrs. Harold Hunc and Mrs. Charles Williams. Gregg. This was also a farewell dinner for Kenneth E. Ziler who will be leaving for Camp Breckenridge, Ky., for two wee^ks training with the active reserves. The service was performed by Evan gelist McKinley Bates at his par sonage. The bridie chose a blue frock with matching accessories for her wedding with a corsage of red rosebuds pinned to her shoulder line. She carried a white Bible, a gift of her mother. Both mothers wore navy blue dresses with white accessories and red rosebud corsages. The bride is a graduate of Summerfield high school and was employed in the Noble County Treasurer's office. Mr. Carpenter is a graduate of Sarahsville high school, ser ved four years with the U. S. Air Force and is now employed with the Timken Roller Bearing Co., in Canton. Following a wedding trip to Washington, D. C., and Niagara Falls, N. Y., the couple will reside in Canton. Friendly Sewing Circle Meels In Loop Home The Friendly Sewing circle was recently entertained by Mrs. Bessie Loop and Mrs. Opal Pil cher in the former's home in Olive. Sewing was the project for the evening with contests being en joyed during the social hour. Plans were made to hold a weiner roast and hamburg fry on July 19 at the roadside park, north of Caldwell.
