Zion Homemakers Club lyirs. icia Bayly, route i, was hostess to members of the Mt. Zion Homemakers club at her home Thursday. The president, Jean Crow, was in charge of the meeting. Mrs. Mary Ann Bond and Mrs. Zelma Williams gave the lesson on "Cooked Meals From The Freezer." At noon a covered dish dinner was enjoyed by the following present: Fern Williams, Ruby Secrest, Edna Johnson, Cora Nicholson, Ava Groves, Norene Hively, Helen Secrest, Zelma Williams, Helen Miley, Minnie Secrest, Jean Crow, Florence Larrick, Clara Cunningham, Mary Ann Bond and hostess. Mrs. Ester Groves was a guest and Mrs. Freda Secrest, of Co lumbus, a memiber, was also present. The afternoon was spent in textile painting. Mrs. Clara Cun ningham won the door prize Mrs. Cunningham was in charge of the contests. Prizes being won by Florence Larrick and Ester Groves. The November meeting will be held at the home of Mrs, Florence Larrick. Class Meeting The Builders M.E. Sunday school class held their regular monthly meeting in the church basement, Thursday night. The president, Jewell Patton conducted the business hour and Doris Stranathan led in the de votionals, using the one hundred and third psalms and today's lesson from the upper room. Mrs Vera Hopps was in charge of the program which consisted of readings by Dorothy Winland, Ester Kackley, Eulalia McKee and Vera Thompson. Mrs. Hazel Watkins and Mrs. Marie Mercer sang a duet. Mrs. Eulalia McKee had the contest with Mrs. Lois Gress receiving the prize. During the social hour, a lunch was served in the dining room on tables decorated with lighted pumpkin in keeping with the Halloween season by the host esses, Norene Hively, Patty Schafer and Mona Eddy. Those present including the above members were: Beulah Gander, Maude Finnegan, Ester and Barbara Buckey, Minnie and Ruby Secrest, Helen and Betty Miley, Pearl Sprout and Sue Faught. Mrs. Mary Ann Bond, of route 1, and Mrs. Zelma Williams of route 2, attended the Leader Training at the Methodist church at Caldwell, Tuesday. There will be a masquerade party at the Mt. Zion Lutheran church, Saturday evening, Oct. 26. Each family is to bring sand wiches and a covered dish and come masked. Mr. and Mrs. Noah Shriver and son, Dean, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Miley and daughter, Betty Jean were Sunday after noon guests of Patrolman and Mrs. Harold Miley and family at Marietta. Enroute to Marietta, the Shrivers were dinner guests of the Mileys at Ogle's Maple Shade Inn, near Dexter City. Mrs. Freda Secrest returned to her home in Columbus, Mon day after spending the past ten days with local relatives and friends. Mr. Noel Van Wagenen showed slides as Mrs. Van Wagenen gave an interesting talk on the Holy Land and Turkey. Catachism will start next Sat urday morning at 9:00 a. m. for children 10 years of age and older and the junior choir will sing next Sunday morning. Church Project A .group of men gathered Sat urday morning and laid the water line to the church. Gay Pitts, of Caldwell, is installing the rest room fixtures. It is hoped this project will be finished this week. Fall Festival The annual fall festival will be Thursday evening at the school building. The public is invited. Bethel Bates was dismissed from the St. Francis hospital to his home Sunday. He had been: a patient there for four weeks. Mr. and Mrs. David Rich and family visited Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. William Rich and family and Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Rich.
