Page Eight Miss Irene Zudeli's Wedding Announced Andy Zudell of Caldwell route is announcing the marriage of his daughter, Irene, to Robert Glesser, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Glesser, of Toledo. The wedding was solemnized Sunday, March 15, at the Geth semane Lutheran church in •Lakewood, Ohio, with Rev. Paul W. Stanko officiating. After a short wedding trip to Florida the couple will reside at •15601 Delaware Avenue, Lake woocL H. D. Carters To Hold Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Carter will observe their 62nd wedding an niversary on Wednesday, March 25, at their home in Whigville. They are the parents of two children, Goodsell Carter of Cuyahoga Falls and Mrs. Amy Johnson of Caldwell. They have two granddaughters, Mrs. Emily Wolfe of Columbus and Mrs. LaNelle Bates of West Lafayette. There arc eight great-grandchil dren. Amazon Chapter, OES, Holds Regular Meeting Amazon Chapter, O. E. S., met Tuesday evening in the Masonic Temple, Main street, Caldwell, with Wortny Matron, Marylois Colley in charge. The worthy matron announced the inspection date of Amazon Chapter as being Saturday, June 6 with Worthy Grand Matron, Elizabeth H. Foster, to act as inspecting officer. The inspection dates for the other chapters in the district were also announced. During the social hour follow ing the meeting, refreshments in keeping with St. Patrick's Day were served by the committee composed of Ruth Evilsizer. Edna Davis, Ethel Jean Davis, Jessie Elliott, Lura Farley, Ada Franklin, Ada Gibson, Lail Gill, Sophia Gray, Olive Groves and Alice Guiler. Farm Bureau Women's Council Holds Meeting The Farm Bureau Woman Council met recently in the office of the Farm Bureau with chairman, Mary lams, in charge of the business meeting. Plans were discussed for a bake sale to be held in the Permian Oil and Gas Co. on Sat urday. March 21, from 10:00 a. in. until 1:00 p. m. Plans were also discussed far the county wide farm bureau woman tea. Members present were {Cath erine Leonard, Pauline Crumb. Richcreek, Main street, are announc ing the engagement of their youngest daughter, Miss Sandra Sue Richcreek to Mr. Sam Bates, of Caldwell. Miss Richcreek is a junior at Ohio University, Athens and is majoring in education. She is a member of Kappa Phi soro rity. She is a graduate of Caldwell high school, class of 1957. Mr. Bates is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Bates of Cam bridge, formerly of Caldwell. He graduated from Caldwell high school with the class of 1956 and is also a junior at Ohio University, where he is majoring in physical education. Wedding plans are incomplete. Narcissus Club Enjoys One O'clock Luncheon A 1:00 o'clock luncheon was enjoyed by members and guests of the Narcissus club last Thurs day, March 12, at the home of Mildred Zimmerman with Edna Tarleton serving as companion hostess. Freda Robinson opened the business meeting by reading a poem entitled, "March 20th," by Edgar A. Guest. The tables were decorated in keeping with St. Patrick's Day. Florence Archer won the prize for the contest. Each guest was asked to bring something over 50 years old with many beautiful antiques being displayed. Members present were: Nata lie Da hood, Jessie Young, Gert rude Harper, Freda Robinson, Jo Freestone, Sophia Gray, Elsie Kirchner, Hope Webster, Mary Seerest, Florence Archer, Kath eryn Merry, Mary Tipton and Lela Keyser. In addition to games, stunts and contests a novelty number "Down Memory Lane" was pre sented by Mrs. Ethel Johnson and Mrs. Freda Frakes, mem bers of the local Camera club. Colored pictures were shown of places, scenes, and buildings rapid disappearing from our landscape, never to be replaced. Vincent Daniels at the piano played appropriate music and had also composed clever par odies which were sung with some of the pictures. The prize winners of the even ing were: Mrs. Edith Canel, Mrs. Paul Redd, Mrs. Catherine Car penter, Mrs. P. T. Morris, Mrs. Elma Howell and Donald L. Smith. (Dick) Bailey, of Cumberland, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary March 22 when a family luncheon will be served at 12:30 p. m. in the Cumberland Methodist church followed by open house at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Lyon of Cumber land from 2:30 to 5:00 p. m. They were married March 27, 1909, by Rev. E. Myers at the Mt. Zion parsonage and have seven children, Earl Bailey, Mrs. Harold Focht, W. H. Bailey and Mrs. A. J. Rose, all of Dayton, Mrs. Lyon and Mrs. Myron Hickle both of Cumberland and Charles Bailey of Chandlersville route 3. There are 11 grandchil dren and two great-grandchil dren. To Hold Meeting Monday The March meeting of the Caldwell P.T.A. will be held Monday evening, March 23, in the high school auditorium at 8:00 o'clock. The theme of the meeting will be, "Let's Hear from Our VjI.P.'s, Very Important People, namely the students in our Caldwell schools." A student panel with Byron Steen as moderator, "Let's bring up and discuss some of our prob lems. How about it Mom and Dad, and Teacher?" will also be held. The student panel will consist of John Seheer, seventh grade Ronald Brown, eighth grade Tommy Lewis, 11th grade Jacqie Davis, 12th grade Nancy Feld ner, 10th grade Eddie James, 10th grade Rosemary Crum, 9th grade and Diana McDonald, 11th grade. A question and answer period will be held with audience participation. The hospitality committee for the meeting is chairman, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Leighton, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stevenson and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Mero. Homebuilders Class Enjoys Meeting In Church The Homebuilders class met Monday evening in the church dining room of the First Meth odist church for a covered dish luncheon with Mr. and Mrs. Glen Slay and Mr. and Mrs. H. Wil liams, of Harriettsville route 1, wish to announce the engage ment and approaching marriage of their oldest daughter, Nora Mae, to Harold L. Carpenter, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Car penter, of Marietta route 5. The bride-elect is a 1958 grad uate of Elk local high school. Mr. Carpenter attended the Marietta high school and is em ployed by the Pike street Sunoco service station, Marietta. Wedding plans are incomplete. Circle, Tour, W.S.C.5., Meets In Jenkins Home Mrs. John Jenkins was hostess Monday evening to members of Circle Four of the First Meth odist church at her home in Bronze Heights. Mrs. Dale Gar rett and Mrs. R. S. Rudge served as companion hostesses. The meeting was opened with a prayer by the president, Mrs. Fred McDonald. A Lenten talk and scripture reading were given by Mrs. Parker West. The secretary's and treasurer's re ports were given. Plans were discussed for the serving of the ministers and wives dinner of the district in April. The group voted to give money to the Red Cross. Recreation was enjoyed by all with Mrs. West in charge. Prizes were won by Mrs. Harold Lewis and Mrs. Leighton Archer. Members present were Mrs. Robert Winberg, Mrs. Carl John son, Mrs. Parker West, Mrs. John Harmon, Mrs. Paul Moore, Mrs. Merle Barnhart, Mrs. Harold Lewis, Mrs. Fred McDonald, Mrs. James Smoot, Mrs. Leighton Archer, Mrs. Bruce Mero, Mrs. Carl McVay and the hostesses. Woman's Association Holds General Meeting The General meeting of the Woman's Association was held last Tuesday, March 10, in the Presbyterian church with 24 members in attendance. The president was in charge of a short business meeting. A very interesting program was presented with Mrs. Roberta Daugherty as chairman. The de votions for the evening were in charge of Mrs. Freda Robinson. At the close of the meeting delicious refreshments were ser ved to all those attending by Circle One. Lime Rock Council Has Regular Meeting The Lime Hock Farm liureau Council met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Beckett for their March meeting. The topic of dis cussion was on schools. Eighteen members answered the roll call with two guests present for a delicious covered dish dinner. The president was in charge of a short business meeting. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Radcliff. The topic will be on roads. cLA Enoch Farm Bureau Council Has Meeting The Enoch Farm Bureau coun cil met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schockling Sunday evening. The council discussed the five cent parking meters and all were opposed to it. The topic for the month was "Schools and Our Pressing Problems." After the meeting games were played and a delicious lunch was served to the following: Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Dimmer ling and children, Jimmy, Nor man, Chuckie, David and Joanne, Mr. and Mrs. Terance Hohman, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Saling, Albert Hupp, Andrew Crum, the host, hostess and family, Billy, Mary and Bob. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hupp. St. Ann's Guild Meets Sunday At K. Of C. Hall The St. Ann^s Guild and Cath olic Women's club of St. Philo mena's parish, Caldwell, met Sunday evening, in the K. of C. hall with the president, Helen Ehlermann, presiding. A donation was sent to the Red Cross. Plans were made for a social to be held April 12 in the K. of C. hall for Bishops charities. The door prize was won by Dorothy Schott. The refresh ment committee included Alice Kress, Eleanor Riski, Eulalia Wiley, Marjorie Postel, Thelma Crum and Veronica Kress. Others present included Rev. Fr. S. J.
