Mr. and Mrs. Theron Bibler, recent newly-weds liave gone to Bel, Calif., where Mr. Bibler is employed by the Chrysler Mttor Co., to make their home. Outside of a severe shaking up none of the party were hurt. Pandora grange met Tuesday even ing and held their annual gift ex change and Christmas party. Mrs. Donald McDowell entertained the Advance club at the December meeting, Saturday afternoon. Mrs. C. E. Sommer had charge of the special program for the W. S. C. S. held at the church, Wednesday evening. Mesdames Ella Briden baugh, Eldon Reichenbach, George Decker and Dale Stewart were the hostesses. Mrs. Pratt Agner enter tains the society in January. The Dorcas society of the Grace Mennonite church held a gift ex change at their meeting with Mary K. Schutz, Monday evening. Mrs. John Alkire, a former Riley township citizen, died at the Earlie Rest home, Findlay, Thursday. John Alkire, her husband, a former teacher died in 1942. The couple made their home in Leipsic for a good many years. Ralph M. Alkire, Edward Hilty and Lawrence Amstutz of Riley township were named as members of the Put nam county AAA group. Alternates are Earl Diller and Lee Welty. The high school under their leader, Earl Lehman, gave a Christmas can tata Wednesday evening, Dec. 19. On Friday afternoon the grade school will give their Christmas program in the auditorium. The Christmas lights on Pandora’s street lets us know that Santa and his reindeer are just around the corn er. Miss Mary Core and Francis Geiger were united in marriage Saturday evening at the Grace Mennonite church by Rev. Forrest Musser. Mr. Geiger just recently returned from the European theatre of war. The couple will reside in Pandora. Mrs. Mertie Reese and sister Miss Harriet Krohn who have been visiting at the Dr. Waldo Suter home in Wat erville since before Thanksgiving, re turned home Wednesday afternoon. The Methodist congregation held their annual Vesper Service Sunday afternoon. Stanley Niswander and family moved into the house they recently bought at Lima on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Diller, who own the apartment the Niswander’s moved out of are now living in same. Mrs. Zella Frantz lives in the up stairs rooms. The Emerson Basinger family of Berne, Ind., visited at the home of Mrs. Salome Basinger several days recently. Mrs. Russell Eastman entertained Au Revoir club members and several friends at the December meeting. Mrs. Peter Hilty and daughter, Miss Margaret Hilty spent Sautrday with Miss Minnie Hilty at Ft. Wayne, Ind. They report that Miss Hilty is get ting along us well as can be expected from the accident she was in recent ly. Both limbs were set and placed in casts last Monday. Miss Margaret Hilty was in Cleve land a couple of days last week. A good many have been afflicted with bad colds and flu in this com munity. The Stanley Niswander family of Lima were in our city Saturday even ing. Mrs. Clyde Waltz was a recent vis itor in Cleveland. Frank Krohn and family spent Sun day afternoon and evening with their daughter, Caroline at Ft. Wayne. Miss Caroline expects to enter training for a service in a Ft. I ter holidays. Louis David Risser is now located on the island of Guam in South Pa cific, which is a coral reef, and is a very rainy spot. It is also very hot there and has multitudes of mosqui toes to pester the boys. Halton Mcmiue, Lima, nephew of the Risser families here is on a trip to Charleston, W. V. From there he expects to go to Florida to visit Mr. and Mrs. David Cumrine. Mrs. Cum rine, his aunt was the former Alma McBride of Pandora. John Gordon McBride, son of Otis McBride, Lima, is now home from Jacksonville, Fla., and has his dis charge from the Army. Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Hilty and fam ily spent Sunday, December 9 with the Jesse Lehman family at New London. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Kerr of Otta wa were visitors at the Wilbert Zuer cher home, Sunday. Monroe Hilty recently went on a trip to Arizona and California. Charles Lemley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Lemley, returned home from Pueblo, Colo., Wednesday. He now has his discharge from the Army and will again work in the Cupp and Lemley hardware store. The Lem leys will reside in the home of 31 rs. Lemley’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Len nis Steiner. ..
