THURSDAY, JAN. 10, 1946 Bluffton Youth Is Married In Iowa Lysle Niswander, son of Mr. ana Mrs. Edwin Niswander of near Bluffton and Miss Leona Elizabeth Schroer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schroer of Gamer, Iowa, were married in New Year’s day at 4:30 o’clock at the Peace Reformed church in Garner, it was announced the first of the week. The bride’s sister, Mrs. V.* C. Op permann and son Calvin Oppermann and Miss Kathleen Niswander, sister of the groom attended the wedding. The bride was previously employed in the plant of the Triplett company here. The groom was recently dis charged from Army tarvice. The couple are expected to arrive here the latter part of the week and will reside in a house being built for them on the farm of the groom’s 1 I Blufftoii, Ohio parents north of Bluffton on the county line. Report to Clientele Speaker From South America At College Robert Geigley, Bluffton college alumnus recently returned from Paraguay, South America, w’here he was engaged in relief work in the Mennonite colony will speak at the vesper service in the College chapel, Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock. Geigley spent two years in the colony which consists of refugees from Russia. He will be accompanied here by his wife, a native or Argentina who is on her first visit to this country. Geigley’s vesper address together with a varsity-alumni basketball game on Saturday night have been arranged as a mid-winter homecom ing for former Bluffton college students. The Board of Directors of Investors Mutual, Inc., have declared a quarterly dividend distribution from income of 14c per share payable pn January 21, 1946, to sharehold ers of record as of December 31, 1945. Precious 1945 dividends amounted to 10c per share for the quarter ending ]|arch 31st 20c per Share for the quarter ending June 120th, and 26c per slyire for the quarter ending September 30th, totaling 70c for the cal endar year 1945. Of this amount 43.2c was derived from interest and dividend income less expense and 26.8c from profits from sale of portfolio securities. Earl E. Crabb, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Investors Mutual, Ink, reported that the net asset value of the fund totaled $78,008,445.78 as of December 15, 1945, with shares held by approximately 40,000 share holders. Mrs. Louis Deerhake of St. Marys and her son Kermit who recently was discharged from the Army visited the past week with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Deerhake and Mrs. Bertha Matter and Rolland Matter. Miss Mary E. Stearns, senior in Heidelberg college, Tiffin, returned Monday to resume her studies after spending the holiday vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Stearns of Spring street. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Kohli and family of Oak Harbor, Mr and Mrs. Horace Leigh of Mobile, Alabama, and Harold Kohli visited their moth er, Mrs Eva Kohli the past week. Walter Greiner is convalescing at his home north of Bluffton on the Dixie highway following an operation for removal of tonsils and adenoids which he underwent at Bluffton hospi tal last Friday. Orville Badertscher of North Man chester, Ind., visited Saturday at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Badertscher of South Lawn avenue. He was accompanied home by Mrs. Levi Hauenstein who is visit ing at the Badertscher home in North Manchester. Miss Marion Pugh student at Heid elberg college, Tiffin, has resumed her studies at that place after spend ing the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Pugh of Beaver dam. Mrs. Donald Stratton and family at tended funeral services held for her father, C. M. Winterhalter, 59, at Ce cil, Ohio, Saturday morning, Mr. Win terhalter died January 2 at St. Rita’s hospital where he had been a medical patient for the past month. Rev. and Mrs. W. H. Lahr of Har mon road who have been visiting at the home of their daughter Mrs. Marie Stucki and family in Denver have left for Mexico City where they will spend three months with another daughter, Mrs. Edith Moser and fam ily- Mrs. L. Missionary Speaker At Bethel Church Miss Mary M. Haas, returned mis sionary from Nigeria, Africa, will make two appearance Sunday in the Bethel Church of Christ. At 11 a. m. she will speak on her experiences as a missionary worker, and at 7:30 p. m. she will show pictures of her work in Africa. Miss Haas has been a missionary with the Sudan Interior mission for 20 years. Beulah Barnard In Radio Program Beulah Moser Bernard will be heard over Radio Station WFIJf, Findlay, at 11:45 a. m. Sunday in a program of poems and vocal selec tions she has composed. The bride-elect recently returnea from California and Mr. Luginbuhl has returned home after four and one-half years of Army service, eighteen months of which were in the South Pacific area. Mary Sypos Is Red Cross Aide' In Pacific Miss Mary E. Sypos, former di rector of religious education in Bluffton public schools, has arrived in the Pacific ocean area to serve the armed forces as an American Red Cross staff aide. Miss Sypos is a graduate of Far rell High school, Farrell, Pa., and Taylor university, Upland, Indiana.
