She has been bedfast for the past two months and her condition remains unchanged. Miss Mary Stearns of Heidelberg college, Tiffin and Robert Moore of Dover, also a student at Heidelberg I are spending the Easter vacation with Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Stearns and David Stearns of Spring stffeet. The re-appearance of hyacinths and tulips for Easter this year strikes a note of peace for the first time in six years. We will have also lilies and other potted plants and cut flow ers. Mrs. Hartman recently re turned from Cleveland where she spent the past winter with daugh ters. Carey Steiner of Bryan, formerly of Bluffton was soloist at the First Presbyterian church of Bryan at the service last Sunday morning. He was accompanied by his wife, an organist. Dr. Gordon Bixel was in Cincin nati the first of the week attending sessions of the Ohio Valley Opto metric congress held at the Hotel Gibson. Mrs. Josephine Carnahan, formerly of Bluffton who has been residing in Lima for some time will leave Thurs day for Arcadia, Calif., where she will make her future home. Mrs. Carnahan was here Wednesday spending the day with her cousin, Mrs. Rosa Bowsher of tne Mann apartments on North Main street. Findlay Educator Speaks At Lions Club Dr. Eugene Eakin, head of the Bible department of Findlay college addressed the dinner meeting of the Lions club held at the Walnut Grill, Tuesday night. Dr. Eakin,’ speaking on the world outlook said that while President Truman, representing the politician point of view is asking for a power ful military force, MacArthur, the soldier declares that with the advent of the atomic bomb .the only way to save our civilization is by settling international disputes peaceably. Waldo Brand Heads Aviation Show Plans Waldo Brand, former student at Bluffton college and nephew of Mrs. Ezra Moser of this place, is general chairman of the committee in charge of arrangements for The Findlay Model Aviation club’s open model contest to be held early in June. Date of the show will be announced later. Funeral For R. E. Clark At Lafayette Funeral services for Richard E. Clark, 72, former manager of the Lafayette cooperative grain elevator will be held at Lafayette Methodist church Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock with Rev. Arthur pastor of the church officiating. Burial will be in Lafayette cemetery. Mr. Clark died of cerebral hem orrhage Tuesday morning at Toledo hospital and the body was brought to the Diller funeral home here where it will remain until time for the funqral. Brief services will be held at the funeral home here at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon. He was bom south of Bluffton and was married to Carrie B. Mc Elwain who survives. Two daughters surviving are Mrs. Mary Sprague of Lafayette and Mrs. Naomi Leiber of Beaverdam. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Lunda McElwain of La fayette and four half-brothers, Lee and Leonard Wingate of Bluffton Emmet Clark of Lima and John Clark of Montana. Easter Numbers In Oyer Trio Program The Oyer trio will present Easter numbers in their program broadcast from Lima station WLOK, Friday night at 6:15 o’clock. Selections include: When Through the Night, Were You There, ’Tis Midnight on Olive’s Brow and God So Loved the World. Jeanne »will play the Largo from Dvorak’s New World Symphony. Central Ohio Sells Preferred Stock Twelve thousand shares of Central Ohio Light and Power Co. preferred stock were purchased Wednesday by Kidder, Peabody and Co., of New York, and McDonald and' Co., of Cleveland. The two firms bid $100,929 for the 3.60 per cent preferred issue. It is understood there will be no public offering of the stock.
