Couple Is Wed In Campus Ceremony Wedding of Darvin Luginbuhl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. B. Luginbuhl of East Kibler street and Miss Eve lyn Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Johnson of Bucyrus took place in an outdoor ceremony on the Bluffton college campus in a wooded section near the baseball diamond, Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock. Preceding the ce'temony Claren Sommers of Dalton gave a program of amplified organ music including Evening Star from Tannhauser, Trees and A Perfect Day. Dr. L. L. Ramseyer, president of Bluffton college, officiated. The bride wore for the occasion a light green suit with brown and white accessories. Her corsage was white gladioli with pink center. Mrs. Walter Fritz, sister of the bride and maid of honor, wore a royal blue suit with brown acces sories and a corsage of peach glad ioli. William Holtkamp was best man. The bride’s mother wore for the occasion a blue print sheer dress with navy and white accessories. The groom’s mother wore a brown and white jersey dress with white accessories. Following the ceremony a recep tion was held in the Mosiman room of the College library. Serving at the reception were Miss Marcile Steiner and Mrs. Howard Habegger. The couple left Sunday evening on a wedding trip to the Shenandoah valley after which they will live in Athens, Ohio. Guests at the wedding in addition to members of the immediate fami lies included Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Smith of Bucyrus, Mrs. S. K. Mosi man, Mrs Metta Dean and Mrs L. L. Ramseyer. Former Bluffton Physician Married Miss Rosella Biederman, Jenera physician and former resident of Bluffton and John G. Boehm, farmer residing in nearby Eagle township, wmre married in a ceremony at Trin ity Luthern church at Jenera, Tues day morning. Rev. John J. Gauss, pastor of the church officiated and the couple was unattended. Dr. Biederman who formerly prac ticed medicine here has been located in Jenera for a number of years. Union Twp. Trustee Dies At Hospital Here Samuel W. Hughes, 66, of Raw son, president of'the Union township board of trustees, died suddenly at 7 a. m. last Monday in the Bluffton Community hospital, after appar ently being in good health until he was taken to the hospital late Sun day night. A retired farmer, Hughes had been a lifelong resident of Hancock county. He was married in 1903 to Phoebe Atwater, who died a year later. On April 26, 1908, he mar ried Myrtle Powell, who survives. One son survives from the first marriage, Burnett Hughes, of Belle fontaine. Three sons and one daugh ter of the second marriage died in infancy. One sister survives, Mrs. M. H. Deeds, of Rawson. Funeral services were held Wed nesday afternoon at the United Brethren church in Rawson, of which he was a member. Rev. Walt er Purdy, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Clymer cemetery. Poppy Sale Nets $234 For Veterans Poppy day in Bluffton last Satur day realized the sum of $234 it was announced the first of the week by officers of the American Legion Auxiliary which was in charge of the project. Proceeds from the sale of artificial poppies, made by veterans at the Sandusky home, are dedicated ex clusively to the care and rehabilita tion of the nation’s disabled and needy veterans. The Auxiliary wishes to thank all who cooperated in this project. Clubd/dcje$ and Societies Eastern Star Bluffton Eastern Star chapter will meet next Tuesday night. Maid of honor will be Miss Eileen Hartman, sister of the bride and bridesmaids will be Miss Helen Hart man, another sister and Miss Janice Wingate. Robert Parlette, brother of the groom will be best man and ushers will be Darrell Parlette and Myron Winegardner. The flower girl will be Devonna Hahn. Jerry Lee Par lette will be ringbearer. The bride-elect is employed at the Newberry store and Mr. Parltte is employed at the Coca Cola bottling works. Gold Star 4-H Club In observance of Rural Life Sun day, ten members of the club attend ed the young people’s meeting at Ol ive Branch church. The fourth meeting of the year was held Monday night, with 19 members and 12 visitors present. On the pro gram were Judith Montgomery, Jean ette Murray, Twila Henry, Virginia Criblez, Esther Wilber, Jeanann Klingler and Rosemary Montgomery. Girls are asked to bring material and patterns to the next meeting on June 17 and Marilyn Moore will dem onstrate altering a pattern. Fifty-five projects are being car ried by club members this year in cluding sewing 21, poultry 4, vege table gardening 8, junior leadership 4, dairy 5, flower gardening 3, nutrition 7 and rabbits 3. H. S. Alumni Hold Annual Reunion Sixty-fifth annual reunion of the Bluffton high school alumni associa tion was held Friday night when 148 members enjoyed a dinner and pro gram in the high school cafeteria followed by dancing in the gymnas ium attended by more than 200. Speakers at the dinner included Edgar Hauenstein representing the class of 1896 which held its 50th reunion and Stanton Steiner of Lima, speaking for the 25th anni versary of the class of 1921. Don avon Conrad of the class of 1923, member of the finance committee of the board of education spoke on the financial outlook for the schools. Welcome to the incoming class was given by C. A. Biery, president of the association and the response was by Harold Hartman, class president. Memorials were read, by Mrs. Nor man Triplett for four members of the association who died during the past year: Steiner Geiger ’16, La verne Thut ’25, Marcele Fett Smith ’28, and Robert Criblez ’38. Music was furnished by an in strumental trio consisting of Edgar, Sidney and Armin Hauenstein and vocal numbers by a quartet includ ing Ralph Balmer, Raymond Gred ing, Norman Beidler and Roger Howe. Music for dancing was by Dick Startzman’s Music Makers.^ Officers for the coming year are: Pres., Mrs. M. M. Kibler vice pres., Stanley Basinger sec., Miss Donna Hagerman treas., Miss Carolyn Romey.
