Cut Selvage Edge
When making your own glass cur
tains, be sure to cut off the selvage
edges before hemming. This little
extra trouble in the sewing will
avoid the disappointment of puckery
edges after laundering. This is be
cause a selvage is more tightly
woven and tends to shrink more in
washing than the body of the cur
tain.
