Mr. and Mrs. Palm are moving this winter from Cleveland to Boston where they will make their future home. Pandora Peter P. Suter is ill at his home here. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Schumacher spent Sunday with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Byron Weber and family. Her father, who has been in the hos pital for some time has returned to his home recently much improved. A number of people of this com munity attended the funeral of Mrs. Chester Wineman at Gilboa, Sun day. Mrs. W’ineman was the moth er of Mrs. Charles Reese. The monthly meeting of the Put nam County Brotherhood of the Methodist churches was held at the local church Tuesday evening. Robert Reese of Delaware, Ohio, spent the week-end at his home here. Clarence Diller will have a farm sale at his farm on February 7th. George Moor of Toledo spent the week-end in the E. J. Miller home. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Gibson of Lima spent Monday with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Tousley. Mr. Gibson is assisting Mr. Tousley at the garage with repair work. Mrs. Clyde Tousley entertained the W. S. C. S. of the Methodist church in her home last week. Emma Lehman and Mary Diller visited in Lima, Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Scott Kramer of Continental, former residents of this place, spent Monday in town. Don Etter who has been in the service in Europe returned to his home here on Saturday. SEE HOCKEY GAME A number from Bluffton will wit ness the hockey game at Cleveland, Saturday night, boarding the special Nickel Plate train leaving Bluffton in the afternoon at 3:45. Tickets are $7,85 including transportation and admission to the game available at Pat’s barber shop. THE BLUFFTON NEWS, BLUFFTON, OHIO Heidelberg Honors Beaverdam Student Miss Marion Pugh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Pugh of Beav erdam has been elected to the senior honor society at Heidelberg college, Tiffin, where she is a senior, it was announced the first of the week. Membership in the society is based on high scholastic standing and Miss Pugh who majors in English and voice is prominent in both social and academic activities on the campus. Temperature Soars To Unseason High Of 60 Following two weeks of the win ter’s coldest weather, the mercury climbed to a mark of 60 degrees on Tuesday as the Bluffton area en joyed unseasonably warm weather, moving northward over Ohio from the Gulf Coast. Scattered showers Tuesday after noon and evening contributed to the spring-like atmosphere, but the res pite from winter was expected to be of short duration, for colder weath er is predicted for late Wednesday. The mercury’s climb upward start ed Monday afternoon, and continued thru the night, with a reading of 50 degrees recorded at midnight. Pleasant Hill The Methodist Youth Fellowship representing the Lima District, at tended the Institute at Marion, ac companied by Rev. and Mrs. Fauver. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Herr attended Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Winston Jennings and sons Larry and Tommy spent Thursday evening with Gerald Hu bers of Bluffton. Deloris Hauenstein was a Sunday dinner guest of Joanne Barnes. Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Blosser and sons Sammy and Roy Dean and daughter Betty Jean were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Blosser and family. The Victory class of Pleasant Hill church will meet next Friday even ing with Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Jen nings. Class No. 3 met with Mickey and Marlene Gleason, Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Mayberry called Friday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Bell. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Jones an nounce the engagement of their daughter Ruth to Dwaine Amstutz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Amstutz. No date has been set for the wedding. Engagement of Miss Lois Jeanette King, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wade Carroll of Lima to Donald Deeds, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Deeds of Bluffton is announced by parents of the bride-elect. Miss King and Mr. Deeds both are employed in Lima. No date has been set for the wedding.
