Wayne Yoakam were held Saturday after noon at Arlington. His body arrived here Thursday night, being sent from Germany where he was fatally injured in an accident. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Yoakam. Mrs. M. M. Murray is still con fined to the Bluffton hospital where she has been a patient for the past four months. Little change is re ported in her condition. Omar Welty, administrator of the estate of his father the late Sylvanus Welty, will have a public sale Sat urday, west of Bluffton. The Advance club of Pandora will meet Friday at the home of Mrs. El mer Burry. Mr. and Mrs. Iner Basinger of Pan dora left last week for their new home at Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. They made the trip via St. Paul and Winnipeg, Manitoba, by rail. Trains were delayed because of extreme cold weather and snowstorms. Chas. Lauby of Bluffton returned last week from a trip to California. He reports it was 82 degrees in Los Angeles. The Buckeye Coach Mfg. Co., of Beaverdam sold a house trailer to a party driving thru to Arizona. Ruel Suter of Pandora was pleas antly surprised Thursday night when a number of friends gathered at his home in honor of his birthday. The affair was arranged by his wife who baked a large angel food cake. Re freshments closed a pleasant even ing. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Huber south of Bluffton are on a trip to Florida. Amos Gerber of Bluffton has a smart fox terrier dog. In official positions were John Tripplehom, municipal judge Don Burkholder, police chief Ronald Diller, county auditor, and Robert Neuenschwander, county recorder. The U. S. Dept, of Agriculture an nounced January 31, there will be no acreage goals for com in 1947 and that no marketing quotas will be placed on this year’s corn crop. On the same date, Clinton P. Anderson, secretary of agriculture, certified re moval from the list of scarce com modities all food and feed products made from corn except protein meal, sweeteners, and oils.
