Albert Geiger is the champion sor ghum grower of Bibb county, Ala bama. I. I. Steiner is raising a crop of Egyptian wheat and Mr. Heldon has contracted his 20 acre field of cotton for $2,(MM). E. N. Steiner says all the Bluffton folks located in that state seem to be doing real well. Alvin Anderson who recently en rolled at the college travelled all the way from Washington state. Prof. P. H. Conser of Lima, former Bluffton High school principal and now a teacher in Lima High school, visited friends in Bluffton. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Willis W elty, twin girls Friday. C. H. Smith writes that Yellow stone is a wonderland, the most un usual square mile in the world. Dr. Smith is on a tour of the west and Pacific coast. )Mary Jane Althauser Rites Here Tuesday Miss Mary Jane Althauser, 18, former Bluffton area resident and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert V. Althauser, died last week in a tuber culosis sanitarium at Lakeview, Wash., following a critical illness of 14 months. Funeral services were held Tues day in the Paul Diller funeral home wit Rev. V. C. O ppermann, of the St. John’s Reformed church officiat ing. Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery. Miss Althauser is survived by her father, south of Bluffton her moth er, of Tacoma, W’ash., and a brother, Robert V. Althauser, Jr., with the U. S. Navy at Seattle, Wash. Beaverdam Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hochstettler and family of Detroit, Mrs. Etta Yant, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Weich and daughter of Lima were Sunday din ner guests of Mr and Mrs. Ed Cook, Mr. and Mrs. Byron Anderson and daughter Karen. Warren Amstutz has returned to California after spending a few weeks here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. J. Amstutz. Mr. and Mrs. Clair Younkman and family of Dayton, Mr. and Mrs. John Augsburger, Wm, Younkman and grandson Bernard were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Rus sell Augsburger and daughter. Mrs. Charles Marshall, Miss Ann Wukusick and Donald Marshall were Sunday afternoon callers of Miss Ruth Durkee. Sunrise service will be held at the Methodist church Easter Sunday at 6:15. OHIO i' Clifford Elliott, Kibler street, who has become unusually successful with his avocation of photography, earned some national distinction for himself with his 1946 greeting card. In a nation-wide contest sponsor ed by “Popular Photography Maga zine,” Elliott’s greeting won second prize and brought him a nice fat check for the long hours of work put John D. Welty sold his 38 acre tract of land to A. E. Lugibihl. The land lays along the Mulberry school house grounds. Albert Winkler is working for the Scott and Ewing Co. Gideon Schumacher is planning to build a house on his farm soon.
