THURSDAY, SEPT. 4, 1947 Lions Club Maps Plans For Year Preview of plans outlined for the Bluffton Lions club were presented by standing committees of the or ganization at its meeting in the Walnut Grill, Tuesday night. The club with a membership of 58, meets for dinner and program the first and third Tuesdays of each month and expects to program of active civic servi ing the coming year, it v nounced by President D. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Hauenstein of Ann Arbor, Mich., spent the week end here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Hauenstein of S. Jack son street.. Mrs. Harry Barnes spent the past two weeks visiting relatives in Eldor adoj Kansas. Mrs. Barnes was called there by the death of her cousin, Mrs. O. H. Bonnet Mr. and Mrs. Ora Collins and Mr. and Mrs. Sarff of Rockford, Ill., were Labor day guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Fish and family. Mrs. Mae Martz of Findlay and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Williams of Tiffin called Monday at the Edwin Nis wander home north of town on the county line. Mrs. Roger Gossard is convalesc ing at Bluffton hospital following an operation for gallstones which she underwent last Wednesday night. Fiser and daughter Kaylene of Lima and Mr. and Mrs. Ira Kimmel of Bluffton have returned from a motor trip to Niagara Falls and Canada. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schultz and family of South Bend, Ind., spent the past week visiting at the home of his parents, Dr. and Mrs. J. S. Schultz of South Lawn avenue. Mrs. I. W. Geiger of Minneapolis was here to attend the funeral ser vices of her father, J. M. Bowers and visited relatives and friends in Bluff ton and Beaverdam over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hemlinger, daughters Carolyn and Sharon Lee and son Gene and Mrs. Bessie Martin and Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Martin all of Lima spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hemlinger of Bluffton. Mrs. Ethel Magee and Miss May Steinman returned to Cleveland the latter part of last week to resume their teaching positions after spend ing the* summer here. Va., stopped here the latter part of last week enroute home from a vacation in northern Michigan to visit Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Blanchard. Miss Annetta deGraaff who came here from Holland and spent last year as a student in Bluffton college is spending two weeks at the Millen Geiger home on South Lawn avenue. She will leave this month for Win nipeg, Manitoba, Canada to enroll for the coming year in the Mennonite Bible college at that place. During the past summer she filled speaking engagements in the Middle West in the interest of the Mennonite student exchange project by which ybung people of the denomination are sent here from Europe for col lege study.
