Mademoiselle Courbot hails from
Caen, France.

to America and became a student

Vermont and crossed the
Lakes region to Chicago. From there
she continued west to Oregon and
down the coast to California to San
Francisco and Hollywood. From
there she followed the general route
of the Atcheson, Topeka and Santa
Fe to St. Louis and up to Chicago.
From there she continued east to
New York and the end of her tour.
Perhaps this trip is nothing of im
portance to most of us, but the
picturesque feature of the differ
ence in scenery by such means of
locomotion is certainly a novel one.
In the beginning of 1948 Made
moiselle Courbot expects to return
to her native France and take a few
examinations. Then she will be
ready to enter the field of social
work.

amount of research in the atomic
field and was a member of the Bi
kini Expedition. He was on board
one of the first ships to enter the
lagoon after the bomb was exploded
and was in charge of its atomic
radiation detection unit. He was
responsible for keeping the ship a
safe distance from the deadly atomic
radiation.

Physics, will present a program in
the Chapel, Wednesday, Dec. 3rd, at
8:00 p. m. on the subject of “Atomic
Energy and the Bikini Experiment.”
