Fun for ail in the Bluffton Fishing Derby launched again this Wednesday for the fifth consecutive year. Two loads of large fish have been trucked from lake Erie and stocked in the Water Works quarry the past three weeks especially for the Derby. Approxi mately 4000 fish were purchased by the club for restocking of the quarry and of this number 82 tagged fish were trucked to the Buckeye and re leased. The small number of fish released in the Buckey’e has been done at the request of the village council until conditions warrant a larger fish population. At the Water Works quarry 138 fish carry* metal tags. •AA'XNira To claim a prize simply remove the tag and present same to Thomas Prosser, -contest manager, at the Firestone Store, Bluffton. Angler will receive a mtificate to which the tag will be a ttached. Certificate can be presented to merchant offpr ing the prize anj* time before con test closes next December 31, 1938, and prize will be promptly awarded. Large placards advertising the fishing derby will be posted at advantageous spots to make it easy to check the prize numbers. Clip the large* ad on the fishing derby from this issue of the Bluffton News and keep it in y quick reference. The contest is open ONLY TO MEMBERS of the Bluffton Sports men’s Club. If you have not yet 1 joined, do so at once. Contest is open to men and women and both are permitted to join the organiza tion. Dues are $1.00 per year, same to be used for conservation purposes. The season for the lake Erie district will open mid night June 30. Bluffton Water Works quarry was stocked with bass last fall. Moss Raking Cancelled Due to the fishing derby being launched this week, Sport Kirtland, director of Water Works fishing activity, says the moss raking project scheduled for this Thursday night has been cancelled.
