Little Elaine Kay and Janet Gay Mehollin have returned to their home in Wadsworth after a two weeks’ visit with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Zimmerly north of town. Mrs. Olive Shanks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. M. Hiestand of Orange township who has been a patient in the hospital at Lima is much improved. Mrs. Albert Kohler left Monday for Los Angeles for several weeks visit with her son-in-law and daugh ter, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Elliott and family, former Bluffton resi dents. Rev. and Mrs. V. C. Oppermann and son Calvin left Monday for Gamer, Iowa to visit Mrs. Opper mann’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schroer. They also expect to spend some time in Wisconsin. Mr. and Mrs. Millen Geiger and Mrs. Franklin Farnsworth and fam ily were Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. K. Cooney, Sr., former Bluffton residents, now living in Union City, Mich. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Clapper and daughter of Ada and Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Guider and daughter spent the past week visiting Mr. and Mrs. A. Manger and daughter in Long Island, N. Y. Rev. and,Mrs E. N. Bigelow and family will move the ast of this week into the Presbytc-rian manse which has been remodeled. Y., the first of the week after visiting relatives and friends here and caring for her nephew Robert McCune who is convalescing at his home follow ing ah operation for appendicitis at Bluffton hospital. Clifford Fillhart and son Leon and Ernest Dowley of Ortonville, Mich., have returned to their home after visiting at the Joshua Amstutz farm north of Bluffton. They were ac companied by Ann and Lynn Fill hart who returned to their home in Ortonville after spending several weeks at the home of their grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Amstutz. First Mennonite Missionary The Women’s Missionary society of the First Mennonite church will hold its July-August meeting at the church this Wednesday- night with a potluck program as the feature. Each member will contribute an item of missionary or inspirational interest. Devotions will be a play let “A Witness unto All Nations” presented by the young married women. August Wedding Mr. and Mrs. Lew Hullibarger of Lafayette announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their youngest daughter, Bernice to Marion Criblez, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Criblez of near Bluffton. The wedding will take place Sun day afternoon, August 8 at 2 o’clock in the home of the parents of the bride-elect with Rev. M. A. Packer officiatnig. Miss Hullibarger, a graduate of Lafayette high school has been em ployed in the office of a Lima finance company-. Mr. Criblez, who was graduated from Bluffton high school is engaged in farming. Engagement Announced Engagement of two former Bluff ton college students, Barbara Hitz and Robert Enoch, both of Chicago, is announced by Dr. and Mrs. L. J. Hitz of Chicago, parents of the bride-elect. No definite date has been set for the wedding. Mr. Efioch, son of Mrs. L. L. Enoch of Lima, is instructor in physical education in Chicago. To Wed in California Announcement is made of the en gagement and approaching marriage of Norman Lugibihl of Los Angeles, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. J. Lugi bihl of North Lawn avenue to Miss Alice Mleziva of Los Angeles. The wedding will take place Saturday, August 7 at St. Agatha’s Catholic church in Los Angeles. Mr. Lugibihl graduated from Bluffton high school in 1941 and is employed by the Bank of America. For three years he was in the Army, all but six months of which were spent in the European theater of war. The bride-elect is employed in a Los Angeles telegraph office. The couple will make their home in that city. The W. S. W. S. and L. A. S. of Bethesda E. U. B. church met at the home of Mrs. John Beagle last Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Irvin Kauffman was in charge of the pro gram and a vocal duet was sung by Mrs. Freeman Basinger and Mrs. Purl Hartman. Mrs. Carrie Lentz has been nursing in the Carey Ybunkman home the past two weeks.
