It will be the last home game of the season for the Triplett crew, which has suffered only one setback on the local diamond In Allen county tournament play at Lima last week, the Triplett crew romped to an easy 16 to 1 decision over High Street U. B., before drop ping a second-round game to UAW CIO by a 5 to 4 score. Triplett ran up the most one-sided score of the tourney against the U. B. crew, scoring 13 runs in the third inning. Gene Beech hurled steady ball to give up only one tally. Hits eluded Triplett against the UAW-CIO crew last Saturday night, however, and although the locals rallied for two runs in the last frame, the bid to tie the score fell short by one run. Misfortune dogged the Triplett team in the tilt, with Catcher Eiken bary receiving a fractured collarbone in the first inning. He was replaced behind the bat by Bob King, who had been on the mound, and Timer Saddle Club Holds Picnic At Fox Hill The annual picnic outing for mem bers and friends of the Bluffton Sad dle Horse Club held Sunday after noon will be an occasion long re membered. The gala affair, staged at Fox Hill started at the noon hour with a basket dinner and lasted throughout the afternoon. Food in abundance graced the table which consisted of a large farm wagon loaded with home made cakes, pies, fried chicken and a large variety of other delicacies. During the afternoon ten water melons, eight gallons of ice cream and numerous cases of pop were consumed as members and guests of the riding association relaxed and talked amid the pleasantness of the bluff area overlooking Riley creek. The committee in charge did not “spare the hosses” and the affair was one of the best ever held by the organization. Children enjoyed pony rides and riding up and down the steep bluff added excitement for the more expert horsemen, of trails through th along the creek was others who rode horses afoot. Exploration woods and enjoyed by or travelled Oldsters and youngsters alike en joyed rides in the English hackney carriage driven to the picnic by Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bassitt of Beaverdam.
