PAGE EIGHT Carma Theatre Foe Takes League Lead Bluffton Carma Theatre eagers, who topped Spencerville in last week’s Allen county Independent basketball league play to take un disputed lead in the championship race, will play Cairo at 8 p. m. this Thursday at Beaverdam in another loop contest. Following the tilt with Cairo, the Carma outfit will complete first round play in the circuit in a tilt with Lima Navy club, Thursday of next week. Last week, Manager Harry Klay’s outfit knocked Spencerville out of a first place tie, by conquering their foes, 59 to 52. It was the third win in a row for the undefeated Bluffton team in loop competition. Score by quarters found Bluffton out in front all the way: 15 to 13 30 to 26 and 50 to 44. Kirtland led his team’s attack with a 17-point assault on the nets and Art Hilty took second honors with 11. Wilch had 10. The Carma team still is looking for an out-of-town game Friday evening of this week. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Mayberry and daughter Beverly were Saturday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Mayberry and daughter Rose Leigh. Mrs. M. R. Bixel, daughter Alice Jean and son Paul of Bluffton and Miss Madeline Bixel of Fostoria who is spending her vacation here, were entertained at a family dinner, Sun day night, in the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Marshall and son Robert. Word has been received here that Mr. D. C. Campbell has been ill ever since he and Mrs. Campbell arrived at the home of their daughter Mrs. Henry Wilson in Los Angeles, Calif. Thanksgiving time. Mr. Campbell was in the hospital for more than a week where he underwent numerous tests and his illness was diagnosed as an infection in the blood stream. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jones enter tained at a buffet supper in their home near Findlay Sunday evening the following guests: Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Wayne, Ind., were Sunday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Huber and son Bud and Mrs. Mary Sylvester. Mr. and Mrs. William Flick of Lima were Satur day evening dinner guests. Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Smith and children Kent and Jeannine of Cleve land spent part of the week with Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Cupp and daugh ter Edythe. LEGAL NOTICE Thomas E. Wagstaff. whose last known address is 21 West 20th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, is hereby notified that Madonna P. Wagstaff has filed her petition against him for divorce in case number 39317 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allen County. Ohio, alleging Gross Neglect of Duty as her ground for same and praying for divorce and restoration of her former name. Madonna P. Robinson, and that said cause will be for hearing on or after the 26th day of January, 1950. The junior department of the Church of Christ were given a Christmas party in the church base ment on Saturday afternoon. A gift exchange, games, and a delicious lunch in keeping with the Christmas season made an enjoyable time for the children. Mr. and Mrs. Clair Younkman and family of Winchester, Ohio and Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Younkman of Lake wood, O., were week end guests at the William Younkman home. Charles Williams and Mrs. John Morris of Gena, Louisiana are spending several days with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wilson and family after the burial of Mrs. Charles W’illiams on Friday. Julia and Rosa Ash of Ada spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Rupright. The Ruprights and guests ate Christmas dinner with Mr. and Mrs. William Klick man of Pandora. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Anderson and Emma Ruth Tucker attended the Masonic Knight Templar Christmas party held in the Masonic hall at Lima, on Monday.
