Mr. and Mrs. Paul Massie and family of Lima, and Mr. and Mrs. Morris Anderson and family of Pandora, visited on Sunday with Mrs. Lillie Anderson. Mrs. Peter Amstutz who broke her hip several days ago and is a pa tient at Memorial hospital in Lima, is improving at this time. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Augsburger and daughter Twyla were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ver non Neff of Hume. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Wich and daughter Gene of Bluffton spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Downey and family. Mrs. Sam Varvel has been hired to succeed Miss Ruth Durkee as the school cafeteria cook for the re mainder of the year. Miss Durkee left on Tuesday for Perrysburg where she expects to make her home with Mr. and Mrs. Carl Schmidt and family. The W. S. S. of the Methodist church held an all day meeting on Thursday at the home of Mrs. Isaac Amstutz. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Zimmerman and family were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hall and family. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Williams and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Williams spent Sunday at the Wil liam Williams home of Lima. These totals do not include books used within the public school sys tem, for which no records are kept, Miss Anderson said. Increase in the number of vol umes distributed over the preceding year was 6,131, writh each month’s circulation showing an increase over the same month in 1948. During the year, 686 new volumes were added to the library, increasing the total number of volumes to 14, 900. Two sets of slides were contribut ed by the Bluffton Ministerial asso ciation, and 26 film strips were con tributed by the department of re ligious education in the schools.
