The Farm Womens Improvement club held their annual Mother-Daugh ter banquet in the Methodist church basement, Thursday evening. Fifty ladies were seated at the tables which were very attractive in pastel colors and bowls of spring flowers. Miss Easter Straker of Lima was the guest speaker and a very inter esting program was enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Berry and daughter Julie of Scottsburg, Ind., Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Beery Jr., of Perrysburg, Mr. and Mrs. I. W. By erly, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Byerly and son Gregory of Lima, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Van Meter and family, Mrs. Kate Bassitt and Mrs. Cynthia Elliott were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Beery, Sr. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Truax and sons and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Dun lap and family spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Elgie Gierhart. The C. W. F. of the Church of Christ held their monthly meeting on Wednesday night at the home of Rev. and Mrs. Merril Boggs. Rev. Boggs illustrated the work in Japan with moving pictures which were very interesting and instructive. Members attending were: Mrs. Cora Barber, Mrs. Rosella Metcalf, Mrs. Mildred Varvel, Mrs. Mary Kieffer, Mrs. Wava Amstutz, Mrs. Lavaun Amstutz, Mrs. Elizabeth Van Meter, Mrs. Molly Graveline, Mrs. Bertha Dally, Mrs. Effie Pfeiffer, Mrs. Ruth Lewis, Rev. and Mrs. Boggs and Mrs. H. H. Snovel who was a guest. The annual Mother and Daughter banquet was held in the Methodist church basement on Friday evening. More than one hundred ladies enjoy ed the dinner and the program. The color scheme of yellow and green was carried out in the table decora tions with bowls of spring flowers throughout the long tables. Mrs. Alton Younkman of Lafayette was speaker of the evening, using as her subject “Christian Mothers”. Mrs. William Younkman was toast mistress. Mr. and Mis. Charles Bowers and children of Ada, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Massie and children of Lima were dinner guests of Mrs. Lillie Anderson on Mother’s Day. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Anderson and family of Pan dora, and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Anderson and family were afternoon callers. Mr. and Mrs. John Wylie, Mr. and Mrs. Finley Reeves of Portland, Ind.,! Mr. and Mrs. Robert Huber of Toledo, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Huber and family, Mr. and Mrs. Don Huber and family of Lima were Sunday guests at the Orville Huber home. Settlement Robert Dukes had the misfortune of having his right hand lacerated badly as a result of operating a tractor plow hitch that did not func tion properly. He was taken to the Bluffton hospital for treatment and is getting along as well as can be expected. Mary Haas, missionary in Africa, left Sunday for her home to spend her furlough here among her folks. Mrs. Henry Seneff. the former Miss Lillian Welty of this locality, who with her husband has spent many years as missionaries in Africa, re cently submitted to an operation. Mr. and Mrs. Omer Gratz and sons Arthur and Allan were Sunday din ner guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Kohli. Rev. Lanne Beausay, of Upper Sandusky occupied the St. John pul pit Sunday in the absence of the pastor. Appropriate services were conduct ed in the various churches Sunday as Mother’s Day. Mr. and Mrs. David Carr and family have recently moved into their new home which was formerly the Hickory' school building, north of Bluffton. Announcement is made by Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Keller, of Findlay, of the approaching marriage of their daughter Joan to Alfred P»asinger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mardin Basinger. Mr. and Mi's. Milo Lora and fam ily, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Augsburger and family, Mrs. Oscar Lora, Mrs. Milton Kibler and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Diller were Sunday supper guests in the home of Mr. and Mi's. Omar Gratz and family. Calvin Luginbuhl passed away very unexpectedly at the Bluffton hospital Tuesday night. Mr. Lugin buhl had submitted to an operation for appendicitis and was apparently getting along nicely. High School commencement exer cises are to be held at the Pandora High auditorium this Wednesday evening.
