W. Berky, gen eral chairman of the committee on arrangements one of the real oldtimers is Charlie Dillman of the class of 1903—he enrolled for a course in bookkeeping and commer cial studies when the institution op ened its doosr back in November, 1900—Bluffton college has come a long way since then, when the town looked askance with curiosity at the new development out in Eaton’s woods—a single building on a wood ed knoll surrounded by cow pastures —led by a man with vision who had the courage amid discouragements that well might have daunted a less resolute soul to lay the foundations almost singlehanded and confidently expect great things in the future. from his father for many years patriotic bodies the parade to Never comes the last of May but some of the oldtimers recall what happened 67 years ago last Monday ■—on May 22, 1883, when the Bluff ton area was covered with a foot of snow.
