They attended the State Federation of Garden Clubs meeting at the Com modore Perry Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Donald McDowell have purchased the lots along Route 12 that belonged to Grover Geiger and will erect a building for their Allis Chalmers business and it will also house the Buick Sales Service which they with Kenneth Marshall started this last year. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Tousley and James together with Mr. and Mrs. Francis Kempf and Julian went to Canada to Erieau Bay to fish over the week end. They caught quite a few fish. Many people from Pandora attend ed the Fair at Ottawa, Sunday. Al though the Fair is not open officially until Wednesday many of the conces sions were up and in full swing. The Riley Township School will dis miss on Thursday and Friday so the pupils can attend the Fair. Miss Selina Steiner was home for i the w’eek-end and will be home for a few days this week. The meeting of the Merry Maids Missionary Society has been post poned from Saturday, October 7th to October 14th. Then they will meet with Miss Connie Basinger. On October 10th the four mission ary societies of the Grace Church will have a Mother-Daughter dinner in the church basement. The two older so cieties will furnish the program at this time. The Loyal Builders Class of the Methodist Church held their monthly meeting at which time the men en tertained the ladies and the children with a chicken dinner. This was the payoff of a contest in which the men were the losers. Miss Inez McAdams is spending this week in Hicksville at the home of her cousin for her vacation. Friday evening the Pandora Fleet wings entertain the Shawnee football club at the local park. Miss Verena Augsburger left Fri day for Memphis, Tenn., where she will be employed during the coming months. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Harkness are vacationing in the East at the present time. They plan to visit Boston and other points of interest. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cahill and family from Washington, D. C., are spending some time at the parental Harry Cahill home here. LaFayette The Homebuilders class of the Congregational-Christian church met Wednesday evening in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Vernie Jett. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Williams and son Roger were Tuesday even ing dinner guests of the latter’s par ents Mr. and Mrs. G. M. Crabb. Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Brackney have returned from a two weeks’ va cation tour through the New Eng land states. Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Moyer and family were Sunday dinner guests of the latter’s parents Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Roberts. Mr. and Mrs. Byron Whetstone and family were Sunday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Ludwig. Several members of the W. S. C. S. of the Methodist church at tended the district meeting of the W. S. C. S. held in Bluffton Wed nesday. Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Ackerman of Xenia and Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Wol lett left Saturday for a month’s va cation- in Arizona and California. Mrs. Marion Thayer has been re moved from Memorial hospital to her home here. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Shrider of Lima spent the week end in the home of the former’s parents Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Shrider. Mrs. Louise Cloore became ill while visiting in the home of her sister-in-law Mrs. Glen Bullock in Findlay, and was removed to Me morial hospital Tuesday. She is reported to be improving. Miss Josie Wallett moved from Lima last week into the property she recently purchased here. CHEVROLET Wife of Coach is Held for Grand Jury Mrs. Alma Schlott, 39, clerk in the Allen County juvenile court, is free on bond this week, after pleading in nocent to a charge of obtaining money from the court under false pretenses. Mrs. Schlott is the wife of Harry Schlott, Lima St. Rose football, bas ketball and baseball coach, and a graduate last year from Bluffton col lege. Schlott also is a well known football and basketball official in this area. Mrs. Schlott was arraigned in Lima municipal court last Friday, less than 24 hours after she had been placed under arrest on charges that she had obtained $10,749 in court funds by padding the payroll of the aid for de pendent children department. After entering a plea of innocence and waiving preliminary’ examina tion, she was released on a property bond of $10,000. She was bound over to the grand jury. Mrs. Schlott is the mother of a three-year-old daughter. In the meantime, it has been indi cated by Lima St. Rose church officials that the incident has not al tered the relationship between the high school coach and his position at the school.
