TRANSCONTINENTAL AIR TRAVEL is fast but can also get complicated. Sally Reichenbach encountered this coming home for the holidays from Santa Mon ica, Calif., to be with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph. Reich enbach and family of North Lawn avenue. Sally made it to Chicago from Los Angeles Wednesday evening in four hours. In Chicago she missed her flight to Lima by a few minutes despite the fact that she hopped 40 to 50 miles by helicopter from one Chicago air port to another. Having missed the Lima connection, she took a plane to Dayton, went by auto to Sidney where her folks met and brought her home in amily Christmas eve. nbach plans to stay three or four turning to Cal he is a stenog law firm of Kap- her time for a Miss Reid in Bluffton fc weeks before ifomia x«*iere raphe! lan, lyiA4 Berkowitt in Goodwin and verly Hills. What about musicians who play wind instruments? Would the conatant irritation of the mouth piece cause lip cancer? A. Players of wind instruments are prone to develop lip and mouth sores but there is little evi dence that there is a tendency toward cancerous changes. Mu sicians who have very much lip or mouth trouble should consult a dentist for possible correction of tooth irregularities that might contribute to the difficulty. Can paralytic polio strike the same peraon twice? A. Second attacks of paralytic poliomyelitis have occurred but only about five such cases have been reported in the medical literature. The attacks occurred one to fifteen years apart. (?. Several years ago I hit my finger end split the nail. The Bluffton, Ohio December 26, 1959 Dear Mr. Editor, Since having three weeks’ en forced vacation in our Bluffton hosiptal I’d like to write of some of the things I learned there. Of course, one only goes to a hospital when one is ill, but health and hope and new life are offered there. Then, I discovered something about the staff aside from our Bluffton doctors there are ten others in the community around who bring their patients here— for here is a wonderfully well organized staff: one technician five housekeeping and laundry people two cooks (food always tasted good to me) two in the office the superintendent and, this is what surprised me, thirty nine women in the community, HraJtk way any nail atill aplita about half from the cuticle. la there way to correct thia? A. Probably not. The nail may have been injured enough to produce a scar. If so, the trouble is not with the nail itself but in what happens to it as it grows outward over the nail bed. When it reaches the scarred area, ad herence to the bed is lost and the nail splits. So far as is known, there is no effective treatment for a permanent nail bed scar. Dispensing prescribed medicine is what we do best do promptly and do at reasonable cost.
