The lirmormtic Rrtlly The Court
house was about Iwn-iliirds tilled on hist Tues
day evening to hear (Soneral IliuniN Wako and
Il.m. K. It. Kshklmrn. There was a good sprink
ling of llepnhlieaiia as well as ladies in the
nndieiire, which gavo the meeting an uir of re
gpectahility. The speakers proved, to their
entire satisfaction, undoubtedly, that the He
publican party contains nil the thieves nnd
cnundrel that curse mankind, while the Dem
ocratic party comprises alt the paragons of
virtue, truth, honesty, righteousness and sober
ness. General Wakii certainly based the in
telligence of his audience upon a very low
grade, when he told them that the Congress of
the United States had robb -d the Southern
tState of their constitutions, or when he told
them that the Fourteenth Amendment enfran
chised the negro nnd disfranchised the whiles.
The speakers told ns of the itnnv-nfte ninnnnt of
money that had been used by the Hadical party
to carrv on the Government, since they had been
in power, but they were very caretul not to
mention the little circumstance that the treasure
thus lavished was employed to preserve our
existences a nation against a Democratic le
bcllion. For round, unblushing, impudent
lying, commend us to a rampant, unterrilied
Ileuiocratic stumper.
A Democratic Colloquy.
The following conversation was overheard
the other evening between two dved-in-the-rvool
