Tho gallant Sixteenth Regiment Ohio National Guard aro now en camped on what is acknowledged by all to bo a lovely camp sight, surroun ded by picturesque eccnoi'y, in sight of old Port Meigs and just across tho rivor from Fort Miami, which was tho sceno of tho triumph of Mad Anthony Wayne, tho Lucas county children's home and Orchard Grovo, whilo'- just bolow tho camp is located tho beautiful Eden Park. Tho camp is just at tho eastern edgo of the corporation, only a minutes walk from tho center of town. It is a small field lying between tho road to Toledo and tho rivor. The field has been n meadow and is stripped of its crop of hay for 1S93. There is a strip of underbrush on tho north side of it and then comes another small field from which a crop of wheat has been taken. It affords a splendid place for regimental review, for drilling and skirmishing. Just north nt the wheat field is a, patch of woods where the brave soldier boys may lounge around under the trees and feast their eyes on tho beautiful panorama which spreads, out before them. The river is very broad hero and from the camp ground one can see clear down to Toledo. At almost anv time tho smoke of some steamer is to be seen curling up through trees, and withal there is something to attract tho eye no matter which way it is directed. , Quar'crmaMler Karl A. Fliekingcr of Toledo arrived early and had aU preliminary arrangements made for the camp, the carpenter work being in charge of George LnFarrec of this place. First Scrg't C. A. Morrison and Q. M. Serg't Paul Kunz, of Co. H, Toledo, were hero Tuesday assisting in the preliminary arrangements and to these gentlemen the Journal is in debted for information. Thoro are sevon long dining tents 8x40 feet and two others 12x50 feet, to gether with tho headquarters, suttlers, visitors, and numerous other, besides tho tents of tho privates. On the brow of the hill has been lo cated a 73 foot Hag staff, from tho too of which "Old Glory" waves her grace ful folds to the breezes, and proudly beckons to the sun-kissed mounds of old Forts Meigs and Miami.
