Mon and womon aro too busy to read long editorials, In which words ' may bo used, purposoly or uncon sciously, to conceal Ideas. Or tho multiplication of words may servo to conceal tho fact that tho ldoa factory is tho reservoir of leanness. Tho ten doncy In modern nowspaperdom 1b to print the nows, fully and accurately, and leavo tho Intelligent reader to mako his own comment, In his own way. No, tho newspapers of tho times aro not llko they used to bo In former times. It Ib not necessary In our tlmo for the editor of a newspaper to be as export, If not more so, In tho uso of a dueling pistol as In the use of his pen, pencil or typewriter. Tho facili ties for gathering the news are great er than ever before, more money is spent in gathering and compiling the nowB than ever before, and tho roatr ore of tho papers are moro eager to get all tho news than ever before And it may be added that never before has so much of tho world's nows beon printod right up to date as is being printed today. Tho readers of many of tho dally papers of tho country know before breakfast in tho morning what has happened in the world tho day and night before. And no one need go to bed at night without know ing from the columns of tho afternoon paper tho doings of tho day. There has been evolution, and tho newspaper-reading people are tho gainers. The latest report of the directors of the bureau of agriculture at Manila says that the rice crop of the last year was tho greatest that has been recorded for many years in tho Phil ippines, being 100 per cent greater than in the previous year. THE CLEVELAND & BUFFALO TRANSIT CO., CloreUnilc O. 3 DEAFNESS CANNOT BE CURED by local applications, as they cannot reach the diseased portion of the ear. There is only one way to cure deaf ness, and that is by constitutional remedies. Deafness is caused by an inflamed condition of the mucous lin ing of the Eustachian Tube. When this tube is inflamed you have a rumbling sound or imperfect hearing, and when it is entirely closed, Deaf ness is the result, and unless the in flammation can be taken out and this tube restored to its normal condition, hearing will be destroyed forever; nine cases out of ten are caused by Catarrh, which is nothing but, an in flamed condition of the mucous sur faces. We will give One Hundred Dollars for any case of Deafness (caused by catarrh) that cannot bo cured by Hall's Catarrh Cure. Send for circu lars, free. F. J. CHENEY & CO., Toledo, O.
