The Board of Education of tho Pcr rysburg School District, at a special meeting held last Saturday, resolved to submit the question of a bond issue for certain proposed improvements, in cluding an additional school building, to tho voters of the said district on Tuesday, April 25th, 1'JIU. This date was selected because it is tho date of the primary election, and consequently would save the expense of a special election, and particularly because it will give ample time for a full investigation on the part of the public of the reasons for the proposed bond issue. The Board takes the position that tho citizens of this district have dele gated to them the care and conduct of tho education of the children, and in the poper performance of this duty they have acquired information which those who have not given this matter an equal amount of time, study and in vestigation, consequently, know noth ing about. Carefully considering this information, tho Board has seen fit to recommend the proposed improve ment. In support of this recommendation, it is the purpose c$ tho Board to get all of this information to the people so that they may have the same knowl edge as the Board and thereby act in telligently on a most important mat ter. From week to week, through the courtesy of The Perrysburg Journal, tho Board will submit statements which are now being prepared covering every important feature of proposed improvements. All statements will be presented from the points of view of necessity, taxation, expense plans, construction, education, civic pride, etc. These statements will, ultimately, bo submitted to the voters in writing so that there may be no possible mis understanding or misrepresentation as far as the Board is concerned. Because when tho Board has done that it has served its full purpose and whatever action the people may take relieves the Board thereafter from responsibility. The Board trusts, therefore, that the voters of this district may withhold final judgment of this most import ant question until they have all of the necessary information, and that while doing this they will show a spirit of co-operation and interest in the in vestigation of this matter that such an important public institution as the public schools of this district deserve. Bearing also in mind that the mem bers of the Board have conscientiously devoted and are devoting a great amount of timo to the consideration of this question; that the Board has never at an time bound itself in any way to anyone with reference to plans and material, or anything else in connec tion with the construction of the pro posed improvement. That all of its activity, whether in consultation with architects or contractors up to the present timo, has been for the pur pose of getting information, and that alone. Bear also in mind that the Board is working together unanimous ly and that this recommendation is the result of the best judgment of the five members thereof.
