Rossbach were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ross bach. Mr. A. J.Witzlcr has returned from a visit in Cuba. He is much improved in health and says he had a fine vacation. Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Mercer and Mr. and Mrs. Bert King and family' spent Sunday at the Ful ton Mercer home in Bowling Green. Carlin died suddenly at his home in Findlay Saturday, March 18th. Interment at Kenton, Wednesday 22nd. Mr. Carlin was formerly a resident of Perrysburg. On Sunday evening a group of young people gathered at the home of Mrs. John Getz to help in the celebration of the anniversary of Miss Lillian's birthday. A musical program and a dainty supper was niucii enjoyed uy 1110 guests. William Franklin Shueh, aged 4 years, passed away on Friday night, April 24, 1U1G, death being caused by brain fever. The funeral service was held at the family residence on Monday after noon, conducted by Rev. Daniel Carter. Interment in Ft. Meigs cemetery. FKATEUNAL VISITATION On Friday evening, March 24, over forty members of Toledo Lodge I. O. O. F. , including the famous First Degree Staff, visited Fort Meigs Lodge heio and exemplified the de gree of Fiicndship in amplified form upon several candidates. The orchestra of Toledo Lodge as sisted by a trombone player of Fort Meigs Lodge helped very materially in the work. Bro. Fred Ilolliger accompanied the Brothers and related many reminis enecs both laughable and regrettable of his former sojurn in Perrysburg, especially the way he lost one arm and a friend lost both arms. Others with more or less oratorical flights entertained the large gathering un der the "Good of the Order" until lunch was served. All present en joyed this latter pari of the "doin's" co'xept Uro. PERRYSBURG RETAIL MER CHANTS CLUB. OBITUARY. Margaret M. Vass Ellis was born in Perrysburg April 17, 1842, of which place she has been a life-long resi dent. Her death occurred March 23, 101G, at the home of a niece, Came A. Bridges, Haskins, Ohio, with whom she was spending some months of the winter. At the time of her decease 'he was 73 years 11 months and'6 days Her last illness was due to paralysis with which she was .stricken about three months ago, and which ren deied her not only helpless, but much of the time deranged or unconscious, untel her death brought sweet relief from all. Her long and painful ill ness was borne with Christian forti tude, and through it all her faith wav ered not. February 13, 1873, she was united in marriage to J. S. Ellis by the pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church, Perrysburg, Rev. N. B. C. Love, ot which her husband and herself were members at the time. She was received into membership, on probation, in this church February 21, 18G7, by the Rev. T. N. Barkdull, pastor at the time. Her name reap pears in the class leader records of 1873 as a member in full connection, ' having evidently been received into full membership some time before. Her funeral services were held in the church at Perrysburg, O., her pastor, Rev. Daniel Carter, D. D in charge, assisted by the itev. Mr. Mc Kay of the Presbyterian church. The theme of the pastor's sermon was "Life's Best Consummation," based upon tho words, "Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in his season." Job 5:25. , The body was laid to rest in the Ft. Meigs cemetery to await the resur rection morn. "Servant of God, well done.
