The Colorado made liberal additions here and cleared for Vicksburg with a big cargo. Business on tho levee was comparatively quiet, and the arrivals ami departures of boats limited. The Fisk came to the wharf-boat on time, with a fair trip. She left at five o'clock on her return to Paducah. The weather was cold and raw, the ther mometer at day light standing at 10 de grees aLove zero, and it did not moderate much during the day. The cold weather of the last lew days has closed the Mississippi lietween Cairo and St. Louis, and a number of anchor line lwats now on their way from Now Orleans to this portliave been ordered to lay up here. Yesterday between nine and ten o'clock, p. m., a skill containing two men, when near the mouth of Cache river, was cap sized and one of the men drowned. The body was not recovered. South Atchison is shaken from turret to foundation stone. A sensation has occur red within its precincts that bids fair to outrival even the startling wonders of sensa tional Kansas City, and become the usual nine days' neighborhood talk. Theheroine of the sensation, for the principal character is a woman, Tenny Dysart, the wife of John Dysart, an intelligent and industrious colored man, w ho lives in cast Atchison, ami for an occupation drives A. B. Symns' deliv ery wagon. About Christmas time Mrs. Dysart was taken down with dropsy, and the disease lias confined her to her house ever since. She was about 40 years old, ami beforo her present sickness was a strong and healthy woman. Mcdirul aid had treated lier with all that human skill could command, but it wits apparently of no avail, and Tuesday night about Yi o'chx'k she died that is, to all appearances. Wed nesday kind friends enmo in and looked at tho body, condoled with the liusbund and children, and preparations were made for the funeral. Wednesday night watchers sat by the inanimate boduy, and Thutsday was tixed us the day oi the burial, Jliursday morning the body was robed for the gravu and placed in the collin, the sorrowing hus band and mourning children sadly grieving the loss of their wife and mother. The funeral was to take place at 0 o'clock, at which time the house was filled with mourning friends, the hearse was waiting at the door, and the body was soon ready to be l)orno to its last resting place. As tho lid of the collin was thrown back to take the farewell look nt tho body one lady laid her hand on the forehead of the supposed dead anil with aery of astonishment declared that the body was warm. This led to another examination and Dr. (lough was sent for. The physicians applied t lie usual tests and pronounced that life still remained. Tho body was taken from tho corlin, remedies nnd restoratives applied, and to day at noon tlie patient wus conscious and sensi ble and in a fair way of recovery. It is needless to say that excitement and con sternation prevailed, the liearso and car riages went away mid the probabilities are that Mr. Dynurt' funeral will bo post poned for many ,ays to come, IRON WORKS.
