This morning tho weather changed after
several days and nights of intense heat, and
there is now a good prospect of a short sea
son that wilt be delightfully cool, rendered
more so by comparison with the hot term.
To-day has been cloudy with promise of
rain, but so tar has failed to realize tho
promise, a strong wind from tho north
west carried the clouds away at noon and
only filled the air with dust in their place.
FLOUR The demand is good and stocks
light of all grades above XX.
HAY Very little doing. The demand
is limited to the local trade. Receipts are
CORN The demand and receipts are
both light. Prices ere steady and un
changed. OATS None ia the market.
MEAL Quiet and easy. Fair demand
for choice city to till orders.'
BRAN Steady and unclianged.
BUTTER There is some demand for
choice, but common is overstocked and
EGGS None wanted. Hundreds of
dozens are dumped into the river every
CHICKENS The markets are fully sup
plied and easy as to prices.
TOMATOES Plenty and dull.
TOBACCO Is still advancing and re
ceipts are more liberal. We would ad
vise all holders to bring in their tobacco as
a reaction in prices will evidently take
place before long. The advance is con
fined to the west, and there is no margin
between here and the sea board.
