Philadelphia, April 18. This after
noon, while the Gray Invincibles, a colored
military organization, with Hubert Bryan
Post, No. 80, G. A. H., were on their return
from the funeral of a deceased comrade,
they were attacked with stones and other
missiles by a crowd of roughs at Forty-first
and Market streets. The Post were un
armed, out the Invincibles had their
muskets. They were ordered to li. bayo
nets nnd charge, which was done. The
mob retreated, and they returned to their
armory without being molested.
Don't Givk Up. What if youd have trie
dill'erent "put-up" medicines in vain. Have
you not boen equally disappointed in some
physicians; Do uot consider your case in
curable until you have made a thorough
trial ol Dr. Pierce's Family Medicines.
They nre chemically pure, of uniform
strength, ami have come into general use
by reason of superior merit, hi cases ot
general mid nervous debility, consumption,
bronchitis, dyspepsia, "liver complaint,"
scrofulous bunches, ulcers, nnd eruptions,
the Golden Medical Discovery is a speedy
and positive cure; while thousands of wo
men, who had for years been bed-ridden,
have, by tlie use of Dr. Pierce's Favorite
Prescription, been restored to perfect
health. The introduction of these two
remedies has revolutionized treatment of
chronic diseases. Patients are no longer
depleted and salivated, as the tonic and nl

since demonstrated abetter way. "Ladies
need no longer submit to the use of the

Gentlemen. I have used Warner's Safe
Kidney and Liver Cure with the greatest
satisfaction. It is the only icmedy I have
ever used that I can recommend to my
friends", as it has cured me of Bright's Dis
ease of long standing, after having visited
the White Sulphur Springs of Virginia,
nnd trying innumerable so-called "reme
dies" of the day. Having resided here lor
forty-seven years, my friends will be glad
to see this statement. The discoverer is,
indeed, a public beuefactor.
