The river is falling steadily and will be
about riglit for the "June rise" from the
Mississippi which will very likely occur
this year curlier thin usual.
The condition of the market continues
about the same as last week, with , nothing
to indicate a change for the better soon.
Our reports of sales, however, under differ
ent headings, are not a fair index to the
amount of business transacted as no ac
count is taken of orders tilled, nor grain,
flour, etc., sent lorward on consignment
FLOUR -The, week opens with a slight,
ly firmer feeling in this staple and a better
out-look for the future. Prices continuo
without change and ihu demand light.
HAY Receipts are fair, and the demand
is only moderate. Pi ices rule unchanged.
CORN Steady and unchanged. Re
ceipts aro light and the demand fair.
OATS Prices are shaded a ltttle. The
supply offering is small and the demand is
MEAL Fair demand and good supply.
BRAN Huureo and firm at quotations.
RUTTER The hot weather is having
the usual depressing ( effect on the butter
