p. in. yesterday and at St. Louis it had fall

Monday evening, caused by the late cold
weather while she was laid up, and on

The Alai Ket.

The-weatht-r is cloudy and several degrees
warmer to day with every indication of a
general thaw.
The Ohio river is nearly at a stand and
will probably be falling in a day or two.
The market is nominally uiwhanged in
leading articles since our last report.
Wheat is quotably lower, and white com is
scarce and higher.
The packing season is nearly over but
packers still take all the good hogs of
fered. FLOCK Stocks and receipts of choice
are both light. The demand is only
moderate for round lots, and is confined to
best grades; low grades are dragging.
HAY We note liberal receipts and an
active demand that prevents accumulation
of stocks. Prices rule linn.
CORN White is in active demand and
very scarce. Receipts are too small to
meet the wants of the market. Prices arc
a shade higher. Mixed continue un
changed. OATS Receipts are liberal and the
market is well supplied. The demand is
only moderate.
MEAL Firm and unchanged.
1JRAN Sales on consignment iu rouud
lots are made at 73 cents. The mills quote
small lots at 83 cents.
HITTER Choice is 6carcc, and prices
on gilt ctlge are advancing.
EGGS We note a shady market and a
light demand.
CHICKENS Choice would command
fancy prices to-day. The market is entire
ly bare
APPLES Tho prices and tho demand
hold about the same as at the opening of the
week.
