one of the best organized and most success

A Good and Cheap Whitewash.
Few peopld know how easily white
wash Is made und how valuable it is
when properly applied. It not only pre
vents the decay of wood, but is greatly
conducke to the healthfulness of build
ings, whether of wood or stono. Out
buildings and fences, when not painted,
should be supplied once or twice a year
with a good eoat of whitewash, which
should Ijo prepared in the following
way: Take a clean, water-tight barrel
or other suitable cask and put into it
about a half bushel of lime; slack it by
pouring water over it boiling hot, and
put in it a sufllciunt quantity of water
to cover it live inches deep, and stir it
briskly till thoroughly slacked; when
the slacking has bison thoroughly effect
ed, dissolve it in water, and add two
pounds of sulphate of zinc and com
mon salt. Thuso will cause the wash
to harden ami prevent its cracking,
which gives an unseoinly appearance to
the work. If desirable, a beautiful
cream color may bo given to the above
wash by adding throe, pounds of yellow
ochre; or a good pearl by lead, lamp,
vine, or ivy black. For fawn color, add
four jtounds of umber, Turkish or
American tho latter is the cheapor
one pound of India red, one pound of
common lamp black.
Cataiuwi. Helief in five minutes in
every case; gratifying, wholesome relief
beyond a money value. Cure begins from
first application, and is rapid, radical and
permanent. Ask for Sanford's Radical Cure.
