GLOBE, April 23. Walker IJrothcrs
of Now York nay: Mnikot opened stea
dy and Inter nold off on offerings by
traders. In the afternoon there was
nnothor change and prices advanced all
through the list. Tho sharp advance in
Union Pacific helped tho gouornl list
and gnro u nuieh better tone. Sonti
inont is generally bullish and thoro
seomed to bo little stock coming out
on the advance.
Paine of Boston says: Covering of
shorts and manipulation played princi
pal parts in the active market today.
While tlroro was no feature to the Bos
ton market, t radon are beginning to
realise that there are two sides to tlie
inatket now and that prices respond
more iiiiekly to favorable rather than
unfavorable news, which indicates that
the inurket is grounding on bottom nnd
that the next important move will be
upward. Would recommend conserva
