Globo for the purpose of organizing a
Crittcnton Circle to co-operato with tho
homo in Phoenix, nnd incidentally to
raiso funds for tho home.. Miss Broad
brooks will bo at tho Dominion hotel
for tho next ten days and will bo

seen between 9 and 11 a. m. and 1 to
3 o'clock in tho afternoon.
Miss Broadbrooks says it will bo a

Tho yacht of a Now York Republican
banker, with 'the host and his wife and
a party of women aboard, steamed
swiftly past Oyster Bay a few days ago.
Thoy passed unnoticed a row boat in
which wero tho president and Mrs.
Roosovolt. Tho president was pulling
at the oars Tor all he was worth.
"That's tho president," cried ono of
tho women, nnd skiping to tho host she
suggested that the presidential salute
of twenty-ono guns bo fired. ,
"That isn't necessary, is itf" re
plied tho banker, who is known to have
recently changed his views on Mr.
Roosevelt becauso of recent presidential
policies.
"Well, cannot wo swing around nnd
dip tho flng for himf" insisted the
woman.
"Oh, yes, if you fivo ladies desire it,
but I'll' bo below in my cabin," res
ponded tho banker.
Tho yacht took a swing, and, when
closo to tho presidential rowboat, tho
flag was dipped, tho president waved
his arms in return, and the yacht pro
ceeded on its course.
"All overt" cried tho banker up the
companion way. Yes, it was all over.
"I'm glad tho president hns fivo non
voters with him on this occasion," said
tho banker, ns ho reappeared on deck.

NEW YORK, July 8.- Copper was higher in London, with spot nt
100 10s nnd futures 94 10s. Locally tho market was dull with
Lako at 23.25 to 21.00; Electrolytic, 22.00 to 22.G0, and Casting, 21.00
to 21.25.
Load was higher at 20 15s in tho London market. Locally tho
prico was a shado easier, with spot at 5.20 to 5.25.
Spelter was unchanged at 24 5s in London but dull nnd lower at
0.25 to 0.30 locally.
