Funeral. The funeral services ovor
tho remains of tbo lato James E. Mc
Gregor will bo conducted from tho
Methodist church this aftornoon at 2
o'clock. Deceased died at tho homo of
his parents on Sunday morning after a
lingering illness with typhoid favor.
School at Eadium. W. 0. Kcllncr,
county superintendent of public instruc
tion, visited tho school at .Radium yes
terday morning and found it in a vory
healthy condition. Tho school has an
enrollment of twenty-ono and is in
charge of E. A. Doty. A now family
with eight children of school ago is at
present moving into tho district, which
will add materially to the enrollment
figure.
Will Accompany Remains. The body
of tho lato Gcorgo W. Jlolstine, who
died at tho county hospital last Friday,
will bo shipped to Cherokee, Kan., this
morning and will be accompanied by
Clarence Scott, a friend of tho deceased.
Jlolstino comes from ono of tho best
'families in Kansas and no expensa has
been spared in caring for tho body and
in arranging for thfl shipment.
Improving Store Front. Sultan Bros,
aro making needed improvements to
tho front of their store building,. which
may include a modern plato glass front
before the work is complotcd.
Foot Badly Cut. While chopping
kindling with an axo yesterday after
noon, Willie, tho little 4-year-old son
of Mr. and Mrs. John Kramor, East
Push street, mado a miscalculation and
almost severed tho toes from his loft
foot. The attending surgeon thinks he
can fix tho little fellow up, avoiding
amputation and any permanent injury.
An Untimely Frost. After a brief
illness, Jlosa, the 4-month-old daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. William JJoberts, died
on Monday. The funeral services wcro
from tho family residence yesterday
afternoon at 3 o'clock.

FAILED TO KEEP WORD
AND IS NOW IN JAIL
Sam Andorson, a stock brandor cm
ployed at tho dwindling ranch, forty
miles distant from Qlobo, was arrested
Monday night and brought to tho city
yesterday by Deputy Sheriff McMurray
on a warrant charging him with potty
larceny. Andorson is wanted in Graham
county and a deputy sheriff from Port
Thomas .reached tho city last night and
will take him to Solomonvillo this
morning.
Anderson is specifically charged with
stealing a saddle from lort Thomas par
ties about a month ago, and taking it to
tho Channing ranch, where ho was cm
ployed. Tho proporty nllogcd to havo
been stolen was found in Anderson's
possession and was brought to Globo by
Deputy McMurray. Anderson assorts
that ho borrowed tho saddlo from the
ownor and intended to roturn it tho
first timo ho visited the Fort Thomas
section.

Daniel yesterday. At 9 o'clock in tho
morning ho was released from jail on
presentation of what was considered by
Judge Thomas as a good and sufficient
bond. At 12 o'clock Daniol was again
taken into custody and confined in the
county jail. It seems that Judge Xavo
made tho order commuting Daniol and
was tho only official who could make an
order releasing tho prisoner. Judge
Nave, who is in Solomonvillo, was
called by phono and apprised of the
situation. Last night he sent a written
order to local officers and Daniol will
bo released this morning. J. N. Porter
reached tho city Monday night and com
plotcd tho bond by qualifying for $10,
000. Daniol will now perhaps enjoy
his liberty until tho mooting of tho
grand jury next month.
WILL FIGHT PLAGUE
OTTAWA, Canada, October 29. Dr.
Montisambcrt, director general of pub
lic health, has been instructed by Syd
noy Fisher to leave for tho Pacific coast
and direct arrangements for tho sani
tary protection of tho Dominion against
tho bubonic plague, which is said to
havo made its appearanco at Seattle.
A health guard has already been organ
ized, and port and front inspectors havo
been appointed by tolegraph.
As a result of the controversy which
has been going on in North Globo for
tho .past four or five weeks over tho
site for the proposed now school build
ing, that soction of tho city may havo
two now schoolhouscs instead of ono, as
originally intended.
Lato Saturday night, as roportod In
yesterday's Silver Bolt, dissatisfied
doctors wore grantod an Injunction by
Judge Nave, restraining tho Bchool trus
tees nnd contractor from further contin-
uing work on tho now building. A bond
has boon proparod and is ready to lllo,
but boforo this action is taken, it is
understood that tho school trustees will
considor a proposition mndo by tho dis
sntisfiod contlngont looking toward tho
construction of another building in tho
vicinity of tho Murphy boarding house.
A lot, diroctly opposito tho bonrding
houso, of fair size, probably giving
room for tho building and a small play
ground, can bo secured for $1,250. It is
understood that tho people living in that
immodiuto vicinity and tho territory
contiguous will bo sntisfiod with a small
schoolhouso, if tho trustees can sco their
way clear to build it, and will allow the
building on Nof tsgor hill to go on with
out contest. It is hold that as the
Noftsgor and Pnacoo hill district be
comes moro densoly populated, which it
is believed it will in tho near future,
that tho building proposed will be taxed
to its capacity, and that a smaller room
will take caro of tho children in the
west end of tho district.
Tho filing of tho injunction bond will
bo hold up for sovornl days whilo tills
last named proposition 1b under consid
eration. Until tho bond is filed work
on tho hill building will bo pushed.
