Pate, Aged Seventy-fivo, Bitten By Terrier, Is Doing Well. BALTIMORE, November 5. Mrs. S. J. Pate, seventy-five years old, of Gib son, N. C, who is a patient at tho Pasteur department of the city hos pital, is responding favorably to tho treatment which is being given her by Dr. G. N. Keirlc. About ten days ago Mrs. Pate was at tacked by a small terrier dog and wns bitten twice on her right wrist. The an imal had acted in a suspicious manner, and, believing that tho terrier was af flicted with rabies, members of her family and her local physician kollcd tho animal and sent its body to Dr. Ivcirlc for examination. Tho test showed that the dog had rabies in a virulent form, and tho nged woman,' ac companied by a member of her fam ily, camo to Baltimoro last, Saturday evening and went under tho Pasteur treatment. Mrs. Pate is tho oldest patient to bo treated by Dr. Keirle. Tho youngest patient was a little girl thrc.o years old, who, about a year ago, was bitten by a pet cat, which later developed rabies.
