EL PASO, April 27. Tho plans for
El Paso's new military Institute, tho
largest of its kind in tho west, aro
now comploted and work has actually
beui. Tho buildings, excluslvo of
equipment, are to. cost approximately
$65,000. Tho location of tho college
is in tho neighborhood of Fort Bliss,
about ouo-half milo beyond Military
Heights addition, and is to occupy
ground covering twenty-flvo or thirty
acres. The El Paso chamber of cora
morce announces that the college will
be ready for tho reception of students
in tho fall of 1903. The superintendent
is Captain Thomas A. Davis, former
commander of Company M, 6th U. S. V.
Infantry, serving at Porto Blco. .
Another large tndertaking shortly
to be commenced is tho new homo of
the El Paso Country Club, to bo bulu
between Military Heights addition tad
tho military college. The country club
has Just acquired several blocks of
ground and Is to erect thereon a mag
nificent retreat for El Paso's business
and professional men.
