Mrs. Jlartnett insists that she is the owner of a small estate in Ireland" and wishes to return to claim her own. Her husband, Dan Hartnctt, testified that she did not own anything in lrejund and that in iher delusions she has threatened him with bodily injury several times ! in the last two years, j With no other witnesses present in tthe court, Mrs. Hartnctt impressed the I examining physicians m well that I neither considered her a fit subject for commitment to the asylum for the in .sane. She graphically described her beautiful home by the broad expanse of the Atlanite ocean in the Miuth of Ire land and said that she desired to return there to claim her own ami live there tin pence. There was no evidence to ! contradict her statements 'except that jof her husband. Ilcr'appearanec was (so neat and her statements so direct that the physicians agreed that she was inane and that her peculiarities were , only duo to outbursts of temper. Mrs. Hartnctt gave her age .as lifty years. She is the mother of five chil dren, two of whom are respected me chanics, one in this city ami the other in southern Arizona. Her two daugh tors reside with their parents in Jer- iimie. One son is a student at the Tempo I Normal school. Cross examined, she I admitted that nil her children were good and kind to her and that her hus band was also kind, with the exception j that he prevented her from returning j to her native land to claim her own. i She alo remembered being committed .to the territorial asylum for the insane I four years ago and told the court and , physicians the names of the .superintend (cut and asylum attendants, even relat ing what transpired at her examination Jwhon she was committed. She says that some Mexicans residing in her neighborhood in Jerome annoy I her at times, calling her bad names. She joined her husband in .Jerome nine I years ago, coming from her native land with her family. Her youngest child, a daughter, was bora in .Jerome eight vears ago. PERMITS UNDER THE NEW LIQUOR LICENSE LAW ARIZONA SALOON MEN . HAVE NO RIGHT TO TRANSFER THEIR LIQUOR LICENSES. KINGMAN, September 10. Sincf the now liquor license, law went into effect there has been various opinions enter tuined regarding the rights of tho holder of licenses under the Inw. By ninny of tho officers it was held that a license wns transferable and that the holder thereof could remove his place of busi ness from one town to nnothcr. Re cently complaint was made to the jus tice of tho peace at Kingman that one Otto Cornaggia was conducting a saloon without n license at the Victor Gold Mining company's camp aud a warrant was issued for his arrest. Ponding the service of tho warrant tho opinion of tho attorney general of the territory was obtained, which clearly set at rest the contention that n saloon license was transferable or that business could be done under such license in any other town than the one for which said license was issued. Acting on this opiniorf Cornaggia was brought into court and a plea of guilty was entered. The court then fined defendant $125 and costs, or tho alternative of taking out a license covering the period ho has been doing business on the old license. But, failing to obtain a license from the board of supervisors, Cornaggia will have to pay the fine.
