Moro Burglaries in Phoenix
Burglars got away with between two
and threo hundred dollars worth of re
volvers, pocket knives, watches and
jowelry from tho Wilson second-hand
stora on South Second street, opposite
the city hall, Tuesday night. Entrance
was obtained through the back door by
breaking the glass. Tho identity of
the robbers is a mystery. At first it
was thought that tho work was done by
thoso who burglarized Goldman's storo
but tho news that the men who did that
job were beard of in Maricopa disposes
of that theory.

Fatality at Roosevelt
News reached here yesterday of an
accident at Booscvelt v on Saturday
morning at 1 1 :30, in which J. K. Parker
was so bmllv injured he died at nine
'o'clock Saturday niiiht. v He was a
shift boss, and in some manner he was
thrown about fifteen feet by the ma
chinery with which he was working,
striking in such a way as to produco a
concussion of the brain. He is survived

BISBKB, December 17. The Naco
murder mystery has been cleared up.
Harry Wheoler, captain of the Arizona
rangers, says the dead body, found four
miles cast of Naco on November 23, was
Jesus Laza, a Greek of Cananca. Laza
was miserly, and 27 years old.
Ho gavo notes on his property, raised
$1000 and started to Phoenix about No
vember 1 to buy cattle, accompanied by
a countryman, Christo Davlindos.

from Naco to avoid the head tax of $2.
Over tho line, Davlindos murdered
Laza and robbed him in n lonely nnd
secluded place. Ho left tho body where
the wandering prospector found it three
weeks later.
Davlindos was suspected after a
brother of Laza recognized the misfit
shoes of his brother, who was too miser
ly to buy better. Davlindos came across
the line and was tnken by Captain
Wheeler on Dcccinbcr G.
Tho suspect was tnken on a moon
light night to tbo scene of tho murder.
He arrived nearly there, broke loose
and escaped into Mexico. He proved
to bo a professional foot racer.

and every effort is being made to ap
prehend him.
