BOX, 1005, GLOBE, ARIZ. growing tendency toward inci easing tulncss of skirt and sleeves noticeable in tho" latest creations of tho famous Paris designers. This is interesting news to the American women of fash ion. Of course, it remains to be wen how far this lately developed tendo.icy will go. Tho llowing movement of shoer supple stuffs over clingim; foun dations which characterize many Of tho midsummer models is a very ditl'eient thing from fuUnes. and drapery inheav icr materials. In the mean time tho skirt voke and cuirass have offered a compromise eagerly accepted and a host of models along these lines nave ueen launched. Some of these models aro. bizarre and trying and particularly unbecoming to women of too voluptuous develop ment. A fat woman in a piiuccss tint- ting frock of cuirass effect clinging tightly around the hips aud perimps half ay to the knees where it meets a llounco or plaiting, m a sight to make a cat laugh, and yet they will wear tuch frocks. ' That is so much more inexcusable as thero'is such a variety in the season's modes that something becoming to any figuro is within tho possibilities. Tho corsage may bo slightly full in stead of flatly dinging where fullness is more becoming. The corsage and skirt havo come back, to the consola tion of those tor whom the popular Moyen Age princess lines are altogether too trying. Tho new skirts present so many arrangements ot tullncss that ev ery figure may bo suited. All that is needed is good taste and a knowledge of one's own limitations. Tunic arrangements, often but little deeper than Ihe long cuirass, are some times developed in contrasting laco or embroidered net or some other supple material. For example, a charming frock of rose silk monsselinc had a full soft skirt of tho mousseline and a draped bodice of surplice fichu effect, of the siune material. Over this nxc frock was draped a little tunic formed from a shawl of fine black Chautilly, ono point running up over the bodice front in bib fashion, another point fall ing over the skirt front, but reaching not much more than half way to the knees. Sneakinu of draneries. one of tho in- novations that achieved success in the lato season at Paris was a picturesque draped manteau in soft material, which ws brought up on the lott sliouiuer in the bck, fastened there and left to fall free, much after tho traditional fashion of tho pago's cloak. Foulards aro still much likod for the utility frock and tho newest models all show much fullness hi t)io skirts, the long skirts often being frilled all around the waist band or draped, while the-trotting frocks of foulard are chief ly of tho yoke skirt variety. The skirt yoke may run in up over me oouice in somo ono of the pretty princess ci fects which are so popular, but many of tho best models have a bodice slight ly full and held in by n girdle, while the smooth fitting yoke of the skirt has a very deep flounce or plaiting pouting it well below tho hips. It may bo true that the lingerie blouse is not as popular this year as in fortnor seasons owing to the vogue of the princess styles, but judging from tho large number of well dressed wo men who wear such blouses on suitable occasions, the reported decline oi mis garment's popularity is rather proble matical. Tho lingerie blouse is too comfortalilo and practical to lose its hold on feminine favor altogether. Each season tho designers develop new blouso ideas, although after all these seasons tho thiug would seem impossible. This year tho novelties have, to a largo extent, taken tho form of tho in troduction of color into smart blouses. It is true this innovation presents some rather difficult problems to tho laun dress, but it cannot bo denied that charming effects are produced by these touches of color. The blouso material may bo of white and color, fine stuped too, somo dainty batistes and linons, barred in color, which make up smart ly, and occasionally ono finds a pretty blouse of white embroidered all over in somo small desigu of color, usually a- dot or ring. Tho striped batistes aie, as a rule, made up very simply, with only a touch of lace at the throat and perhaps for jabot trimming. Somo of them aro quite devoid of trimming beyond the tucking of the yoke and collar and cuffs, or are mado collarless and in tended for wear with some of the dain ty separate lingerie or linen collars or stocks. Some of tho white and colored material is hand-embroidered in white, and where the material is one of tho soft cotton marquisettes, as is often the- case, a little fine braiding is fre quently used. Some of the most charm ing blouse models in white and color are of cool, delicate lavender and white, and there aro delicious little modeis of this coloring in sheer, fino striped batiste, with creamy Valenciennes eug ing tho double jabots and tucked col Inr and cuffs. Blouses in light, clear green and white are also very dainty and cool looking. There are also somo exceedingly pret ty shades in blue and rose and yel low. Black and white combinations are all tho 'rage for hats just now. The style was really originated two mouths ago and has not lost its popularity. The latest thing for midsummer wear is Iipiivv white lace oil black straw, 'tins is put on in choux, in bands, in big loops, or wired, several loops rasteneu together. Sometimes nothing is worn on the hat except a big flower or but terfly of coarse lace and the effect is quite elegant. One stunning black criu hat was trimmed with white point d 'es prit, edged with narrow A'alenciennes. The hat was. worn with a handsome lingerie robe and was quite suitable. Largo outstretched wings oi wuiio tire used on colored and black hats. They are handsome as "well as durable, fur us ;i rule, summer millinery is all that is cheap looking and perishable. All kinds of Mack flowers aio appear ing. Some buttercups with yellow cen ters, are being put on big black net hats in a modish house, and aro becom ing to almost any woman. Ihe sliapo that will bo seeu most in the late sum mer, it is said, will be tho big black hat with rolling brim. Dark brown Panamas are taiKou about and they aro trimmed, with black linen scarfs. Black leghorn is correct with saimhire blue as its velvet crown. Dark aigrettes, it is rumored, arc shown on black hats, with plumes in green," prune or royai uiue in wt muii .-m.n-o. While tne newest sieeves conuuue i" , bo quite tight at cuff and shoulder, there is a decided bulge at the portion over the elbow, hinting at a return to the long-lost old leg o 'mutton sleeve. Drecoll iu Parjs is exploiting a new sleeve which falls below the elbow over an uudcrslcovo of soft mull gathered into a tiuht fiaml at the wrist. This looks much like a relic of the sixties. The upper part of tho sleeve fits close ly, only flaring a hit toward tne doi tom, which sets over the fuller under sleeve. Slippers made entirely of cloth or gold are a great deal used and so are bronze shoes and slippers, somo of which are wonderfully wrought with the finest bronze beads or are jeweled (daintily.
