The point is: YOU ARE PROBABLY TAltlNG IT FOR GRANTED THAT IT WILL NOT PAY YOU TO ANSWER WANT ADS. Instead of doing that, TEST THE MATTER AS FAIRLY AS YOU WOULD ANY OTHER BUSINESS PROPOSITION. SPECIAL AGENI OF Strange Coincidence in Pa pers Gets the Goat of Henry Thompson By the appointment of Undersheriff Frank Haynca as special agent of tho census bureau, which took effect yes terday, preparations havo been complet ed for the enumeration of the crimi nal classes of Gila county. For the next few months, a record will bo made of every man arrested within the county, whether on a mis demeanor or a felony charge. These records show tho name, age, nationality, place of birth, family re lations, educational qualifications and occupation of every man arrested with in the county, as well as the nature of tho crime charged against linn anu the outcome of trial. Provision is also made for a record of those who are ar rested and later discharged through non conviction. , This informatiiu will be sent to the department at Washington by Under sheriff Haynes, whero it will be used in compiling criminal statistics. A singular feature of this work lies in tho fact that on one of tho forms, which was filled in by the department as an instruction sheet, the nnmo of Henry Thompson is given as that of the sample prisoner. Of course the name might as well have been Henry Brown or Frank Jones as Hciuy Thompson, for it was filled in for instruction purposes only, but the fact that the instruction sheet to be sent to Globe, as well as to every coun ty seat in the United States, bears tho name of tho sheriff of Gila county, yesterday caused much amusement about the court house. "Henry Thompson" is described as being a white male, married, native of Pennsylvania, able to read and write, convicted of a misdemeanor and sen tenced to thirty days in jail for non payment of a fine of $10. Sheriff Thompson strenuously denies that the card pertains to him, as the birth place of the sample prisoner is far from Texas. At the samo time, he has had to admit that the joke is on him and he has already said several unkind things about tho census bureau.
