der, White Oaks, New Mexico, is
among the many visitors at present
in tho city. The Major w as one ot
the original Republicans of Illinois
over thirty years ago, when he
was editor of the Sterling Gazette.
He went through the war of the
rebellion, und at one time was one
ot The Journal's trusty war corre
spondents. Jajor Cutlery bus
seen a good deal of the world, and
holds his own remarkably well at
57 years of age.
