Messrs. Lacy and Schumaker, district manager and plant chief, respectively, of Natchez Exchange, Cumberland Telephone Co., were visitrs to Newellton this week on in spection trip and expressed satis faction with affairs of this branch. Judging from the number of trav eling men here this week, who are generally acented as index of the times, urneserity must he in store for us this year. Those here were: Messrs. Smylie, Fairly, Hoistet, Sky, Montgomery, Star, Hershey, Jarett, Seddon, Dramwright, White and others. The addition to Mrs. Ed Morris' hotel is rapidly apperaching eom pletion and the Morris House wll will soon he prepared to aooomodate any demand that may be made hby the tmraveling public, when we will have as modern and convenient a hostelry as many a town of greater pretentions can bon. . Mr. Elma Willard and Miss Wil lie Strond were married at the resi denee of the bride's parents, on the Marlow plantation in Adams eounty Miss., lat week. the Rev. J. J. (hisnlm, of Natches, officiating. lhth bride and groom were resident of this parish last year and have many friends among our people, who are a unit in extending: best wishes for a long and happy wedded life. Mr. and Mrs. 8. A. Winterten entertained at an elegant dining this week at their hospitable home, "Cypress Grove" Severn delicious courses were served, the menu be ing complejed with delicious des sort of cakes and eherries and onres. The guests were: Dr. and Rogers, Mr. Ralph Robert., Mts. Woodall, Menssrs. Lewis. Lester. and Glynn Winterton, Hollis Rogers and Eugene Woodall. The construction of dipping vate for this section is under way and barring bad weather will be com pleted by next week. All that will be needed to insure extermination of the ,cattle tick within the next year or two will be the hearty co operation of t be public, and this seems now assured, as every one is enthusiastic in the proposed work, which means so much to the gener al welfare of the prish. The Farmers' Mesting held at Tattleb last week was a grseat sueee and was at tended by the lollewlag usatlemesm kn this section, all of whom were pleased with the program mendered, vis: Mems. John Murdoch, W. M. igest, B. Y. Newell and McKinley. The principal speaker at the meeting was Mr. Vans, from Red River. Mr Vas is connected with the Departrenat of Ag riculture, Washington, D.
