S Elw.wehere in this issue there appears n. an advertisement of the Gusher Bend Oil to company, an independent company in ihe corporated in Shreveport for the purpose as of continnouely operating for oil in the Ri Red river fields and other sections. Choice holdings are held by this com pany, situated in the rich section of the rs field known as "Gnpher Bend" and in sections slightly southward. Their first well is now being drilled by R. E. Allison, noted driller, whobrought in the six consecutive Sure Shot wells in G;usher Bend surrounded by many large producers. The chances for this being a success are very unusually hright, eonsid ering the remarkable wells brought in at this point of the field. The Gusher Bend Oil company is under management of the same men who man aged the Oliver Oil company, capable, ef ficient, experienced, reliable men, well versed in the oil buainess. The Oliver, with its three wells for as many trials, ac complished a big suecess and their stock has bounded to a 2-to-I price, several sales being made the last week at the , local stock exchange, at this figure. The (nsher Bend, with the same management, same plans of development and equally as choice holdings, confidently expect an d equally as big a success. - The Shreveport offices of the (iaher ºf Bend company are at suite 53, American Bank building.--Shreveport Times. Several tmmrees in town were blown down and many more badly broken, while much feneing was lain low, but no further property damage was done other than to crops. Some cotton yet in the flid. was blown out, though the leus from this source was small; uncut rise was more or less injured; fortunat~ ly moat of the corn had been pth- A ered, and some hay was probably injured by the rain, but on the whole Teams parish espd aerom vi damage and mlespecially as copared l to that suffered in some aloalities p where much property and some life was lost.
