(0) Mr. Campbell was horn near Rod- th ney, Jefferson county, on July 31,. va 1829, and was eighty-six years and frr seven months' old. After his birth ra his parents moved to Kentucky and in! later came to Coahoma county, Mis- esi sissippi, where both died while their 81i son was still of a tender age. He esi was reared by relatives and in young $2 manhood returned to Rodney, and, tit has made his home in Jefferson Jo county since. er Mr. Campell was twice married, su first to Miss Nannie Burch, and to co their union were born fourchildren, Si Mrs. Martha Stowers, Mrs. Addie H Farrar, Mr. Burch Campbell and S Mr. Robert W. Campbell, Jr., all co of whom survive except Mrs. Farrar. :11. Mr. Campbell's second marriage su was to Mrs. Anna Cordelia (Girault) ids Davenport, with whom he lived a !: little more than fifty-four years and N whose death preceded his by about (. fourteen months. Of nine children w, horn to his second marriage, six; w, survive. They are Mrs. D. W. Mc- h( Caleb, of Harriston, Mrs. John 1)ix, tip of Natchez, Mrs. James McClure, of % Fayette, John S. Campbell, of Nat- - chez, Mrs. E. N. Coffey, of Fort'R Duglas, Utah, and 1,. B. Campbell, of Fayette. Besides these surviv ing sons and daughters, Mr. Camp bell is survived by a large number of grandchildren and great-grand-i children. During his long life Mr. Campbell had been an exemplary and useful, citizen. He had engaged in the mercantile business at Rodney be fore the civil war, and later was a planter, traveling salesman and a lawyer. For several years he served as deputy chancery clerk and was well and favorably known through out the county. He was a member of the Methodist church, and of the Masonic fraternity. The furneral was conducted by Rev. J. O.
