April 19th. There were eleven candidates for n alderman, namely: G. P. Bullis, Mr.. Matt;e Boatner. Charles Moritz, G. A. Mursv. Writer McCrea. Mike S. Ohlsen, Mrs. Josephine Hough. Carl Vanice. B. F "roeks. Sidney Murray, b and John nTle, Jr., the first five ji named being elected: The vote was close, and the elec-! tion was the center of interest, a full vote being regirtered. While all the candidates could not be elected, each made a most creditable run, showing the high regard in which all the can- A didates were held by their fellow-: townsmen. Hen. Philip Hough, unopposed for Mayor. received 86 votes, and wan elected. John A. Cross. unopposed for Town Marshal. received 71 votes and was elected. The votes received; by the various candidates for Alder man were as follows: George A. a Murray, 71; G. P. Bullis, 60; Charles Moritz, 62; Mrs. Mattie Boatner, 55; I Walter McCres, 53; Mrs. Josephine C Hough, 51; John Dale. Jr., 50; Sid- e ney A. Muray, 43; B. F. Crooks, 34, Mike S.. Ohlsen, 26; Carl Vance, 24. 'The first five having received the largest number of votes, were de clared elected. The Sentinel cannot help but com- a ment upon the manner in which the campaign was carried on, especially prier to the election. There wasJ practically no canvassing by the can- I didates; everyone being left to decide a the mater for himself. The Board which has been elected is certainly made up of good, sub stantial citizens, thoroughly compe tent and anxious to administer the affairs of the city in the best and nost efficient manner possible, and the $antinel plbdges its support to 1 the Hen. Mayor and his new Council elect in building up, and improving d the Town and community in every 1 Sway possible. F. MI. DAVID~ON'S STORE HAS I NEW OFFICE. d Anyone going down by the F.
