St. Louis, Dec. 3.—The reported attack
by the Iudiaus on Lieut. Beale's survey
ing party is disbelieved. No confirma
tion of tbe report bas been received by
this mail.
Tho Alpache Indians are continuing
their depredations on the fronteers of
Sonora and Arizonia.
The revolution in Souora was in full
aud successful! progress.
Gen. Pesquieia has lost the support of
all the most wealthy inliabitanta of So
nora, in consequence of his failure to re
pay the money borrowed from them to
support the Zuloaga forces.
Columbia, S. C., Dec. 3. — The Legisla
ture of South Carolina have elected Janies
J. Chesnut to the United States Senate,
after six ballotings.
New York, Dec. 2.—The sales of Cot
ton to-day were lUOO bales. The markst
is somewhat depressed and closed heavy.
Whisky is buoyant, and is selling at
24 l-2c.
Cincinnati, Dec. 3. —Whisky is selling
at 23 1-4 to 22 l-2c. The Hog market
is dull and unsettled; the total number
of hogs brought into market this season
amounts to nearly 2<>0,000. Western
Mess Pork is selliu * at $17 to 17 50 ;
Lard, firm at 10| to 11c.
The Flour market remains unchanged.
Boston, Dec. 3.—Advices have been
received here that the ship Alice Monroe,
bound from Liverpool to New Orleans,
has been totally wrecked on the Isaacs.
The ship was insured in this city for
$87,000.

house, with two stauds and Newel press, grist
mill, barn, stables, double frame quarters with
brick chimneys, and all other buildings requisite
for a well improved plantation. There is not a
more healthy or productive plantation tobe found
in Jefferson county.
To a good purchaser for the above property,

1st of January, it will be rented for a term of
years to a good tenant.
