The Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe commenced to day running reg ular trains over their new road between here and Galveston, and the first train down left at 8 a. m., in charge of Conductor Townsend. At the same time this morning a train left Galveston in charge of Conductor George Lowell, who formerly ran on the Galveston, Houston and Henderson road. The schedule time is two hours and 15 minutes, the same as the Galveston, Houston and Henderson, but the track is three miles longer. Mr. VV. E. McDonald is the station atrent here, and J. S. Gallagher is the local ticket agent, and Mr. Paul Jones is in the freight office. All of these gentlemen arc from Galveston. The schedule on which passenger trains will be run is as follows : Trains leave Houston at a a. m. and 7 p. m., arrive at Houston 10:15 a. m. and 9:15 p, m. The Light Guards have gone into barracks, and sleep at Armory hall from now until thev go to New Orleans, in order to get more time lor arming.
